Thanks all for  the encouraging comments on the 'Bumble Bee'.

Decals are on and have been 'Futured' over...hope to attach the wing, landing gear and some smaller bits this evening-looking at the components, it could be challenging.

Any weathering, additional detailing (including the limited amount of rigging that this plane has) will have to wait.

Hope to have pictures of the E.V with wing and landing gear attached later this evening....this work thing is getting in the way of my hobbies.....

It's the LAST DAY! 11:59 p.m. and we call this one finished. Aaron and I will do a post-WWI Aeroplane Group Build 2013 vlog Thursday morning, so you won't want to miss that.

Thank you all for chiming in on the D.VII. Strange, but I pulled out the instructions to the Wingnut Wings Rumpler C.IV last night ... "Good people don't shoot" is a cool paint scheme ... Hmmm ...

We would like to include in the Hall of Fame the finished models of those participants who don't make the deadline. Some of us had strong headwinds that slowed us down, but are still determined to finish. So we want to make sure that those guys aren't left out. We'll note the finish date next to the pic. Unfortunately, no badge, but still an honorable mention.

As for more FSM group builds, you can count on it. Aaron and I have ideas for more. We're going to take August off to regroup and then announce the next one sometime in September (I think). As with this build, we are going to try to keep the focus narrow and highlight a segment of the hobby that is sometimes overlooked. But enough spoilers!

I finished the ICM Fokker E.iv last night about midnight!!!  It ain't perfect but she's done!. It built nice except for the engineering of the fuselage which I manage to break the top part off a couple of times--a two part top and bottom seam would be better since there's stitching on the bottom anyway. Also snapped off the rigging pulley on the kingpost pulling the last pc of thread. And I dropped it on the floor and broke the rudder off.  Oh well, here it is:

Congratulations! The E.IV is finished! Its sounds like you had some serious travails at the end, but the pressure's off now.

From the pics, it looks like your camera wants to focus on the supplies on your workbench. Do you have a piece of plain white paper you can put behind the Fokker to help your camera focus on the plane? If we can get a clear image, I'll copy it and put it in the Hall of Fame.

I love the family photo. Very cool!

Sorry to hear about your difficulties with your bird, but glad you stuck through to the end. Hope to see some better photos if do-able. (Does your camera have a "macro" setting?)

I think this is the highest participation percentage I've ever seen in a GB. Well done, us. (But mostly thanks to Aaron & Tim.)

I think your right there Greg, certainly the highest completion rate.

freem, that does look a great build. A plain background as Tim suggests would make a huge difference. I found that alone improved my pics no end.

Nice job Freem-all that rigging makes my hands start shaking....especially in 1/72nd scale!  .I especially enjoyed seeing the family photo.

Bob - That's two of the four from the 1/72-scale contingent. I have a feeling we're gonna see another here before the night is out.

Gamera - I feel your pain. No pressure. Do what you can.

Greg - Aaron and I were just musing that  we've had a pretty good completion rate. And we had someone who went in for an extra tour!

Shiv, that's looking great. There's defiantly a similarity between that and the 0/400. I wonder if one influenced the other or both sets of designers just happened to have the same idea.

The Eindekkers look good, freem, good job.  Biplane bombers with lozenge camouflage and converted forests for struts!  Gah!  That probably broke Photobucket, too bad, Aaron.  My sympathies, shivinigh.

Here are my "where it's at" pictures.  The cabane struts are glued to the fuselage, all the other flying surfaces are just tabbed in or resting via gravity.  The PC10 on the top of the flying surfaces extends on under so I used up a fair bit of masking tape and hours there.  It really feels good to get it this far, even if it is not done.  This is a great kit, full of detail, every step has made me try to do my best and it has rewarded me for that all along the way.  What more can you ask?

Well, I've re-established contact with Photobucket, so, here's my Fokker. Beautiful, almost idiot-(Aaron)-proof, kit. There are a couple of things I'm going to fix when I get the chance. This aircraft is supposed to have a rear-view mirror, but my kit part had a big sink mark dead center in the lens. I'll fill it than add it to the model. There's also a tear in a decal under a wing from a last-minute handling accident.

All-in-all, I'm pleased with how it worked out. The last biplane I built was Glencoe's Martin bomber in 1991 so it's been nice to flex the old modeling brain a little. Thanks to all of you who participated and shared your enthusiasm and knowledge. This is one of the best modeling experiences I've ever had. Now. I'm eyeing the S.E.5A...

Ok-progress report....made a fixture out of Legos that helped in the attachment of the wing....kinda...still touch & go for awhile....anyway...wing is on....landing gear is on...all the little bits that didn't go flying across the room are on...this one is done...may go back later & rig it...minimal rigging on the E. V so I can live without it...I have an Albatross in the stash that I'll use to work on my rigging skills...anyway, here are the pics and the last pic was just for comparison-one of the last planes of WW I and one of the first of WW II..and thank you Tim (and Aaron) for hosting an outstanding GB...it was fun and educational...I really enjoyed it.
