Anybody else?
Nice checkerboard up front.
Yes, I admit I do go for the more refined flying experience. <attempts to put out engine fire> I prefer making the enemy shoot me out of the sky, not falling out of the blue because the plane's wings have folded. <dumps ammo over side and turns back to base> And I prefer wheels to floats. <bails out at 5,000 feet as flames consume the fuselage>
Anyone else want to share possible paint schemes? Aaron?

OK, Freem, you're down for the Fokker. Welcome to the group build!
I have lots of 72 scale stuff I should build while I can still see. Put me in for the ICM Fokker E.IV. Just cuz it's on top of the pile. Maybe I can actually finish a GB kit!

George Lewis:
Part of Jasta 43, it was flown by Otto Creutzman to eight victories and Josef Raesch to seven. Not that that matters to me. Wingnut Wings produced two extra sets of decals for the D.VII (Alb) and I thought this scheme with the pitchfork was very cool. In fact, I yesterday I had decided that I was going to do Carl Degelow's Jasta 40 decorated with a stag when Aaron reminded me about this tasty red and white number.
So, there it is!
Tim and Mike, thanks for the comments on the badge.

Awesome! Thanks Tim!
Jack, excellent work! That looks amazing!

Jack,
Fine work! I hope to have our offering up this week and we'll throw 'em both out there for the men to decide. Thanks for taking the initiative and doing that!
Absolutely! Update is official.
Tim, I've done a bit of thinking about this GB, and, seeing that this is really shaping up to be something quite special, figured it deserved a special kit on my part, so I just went and pulled the trigger on a Wingnut Wings Fokker E.II / E.III (early). It's a kit I've had my eyes on for some time, and with your permission, I'd like to make it my entry for this GB instead of the DR.I. Hope that's cool with you.
Aaron Skinner On that note, after much soul searching (read as checking rigging diagrams), I have decided to stick with the D.VII (OAW). Cheers, Aaron

That's jolly civil of you, mon ami; I'll bring the warm beer and Marmite.
Cleaning out my garage last weekend, I found a stein from Mader's in Milwaukie. I'm ready, suds boy!
Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
Brie, indeed! Don't feel bad, Aaron. We have beer, and lots of it. And many kinds of -wurst. Oh, and I'm sorry for "accidentally" putting your instructions through the shredder. I'm certain we can find a low-res copy for you online.

mustang1989 Aaron/ Tim. Glad to see administors starting a GB!! I'm not much into the WWI era planes but when you guys get ready to do a WWII GB let me know. I will be game for sure. Start the rally for the latter part of the year and we'll get everybody on board!!

Mustang! Thanks for the kind words. A WWII GB? Hmmmm. It's not out of the realm of possibility. However, the next GB won't be WWII--not strictly speaking at any rate. We'll announce the theme after this one's over and Aaron and I have knocked out the details.
Also, I want to welcome everyone who has signed up for the FSM WWI Aeroplane Group Build. Counting Aaron and me, we have 10 participants, which is more than I thought we'd round up. Thanks for taking the trip with us.
and the future WWII build .........do able???
GMorrison yes please
yes please
You're in!
GMorrison,
You want in?
Hmmm...
The old 1/28 Revell model was a favorite of mine as a kid.
That little 1/72 looks sweet!
I can do that!
GMorrison I would be interested but there's no chance I could build a model that quickly unless it was super simple.

Check out newer Revell Germany Dr.1. Not a lot of parts, but decent detail, good fits, and almost no rigging.

Well here's my offer of a badge. I thought it best to get it uploaded now, otherwise I'll continue spending time tinkering with it. That is not to say though, if some have further suggestions, I will take into consideration to amend it.

Dre Cool, I'll keep my eyes open for the next official FSM GB. Sorry to miss this, but I don't see fitting in my first WWI aircraft inside a 4 month window on top of everything else going. I'll watch this GB to learn about the genre.

No kidding, Dre. I'm still wondering if I can do it.
