Just a quick text update on my Jug:
I got everything but the engine cowling assembled by now. I ran into a problem though...
The fit of the wings to the fuselage wasn't good at all. I had to rescribe the panel lines where the wings meet the fuse (one on each side at the bottom and the whole wing-root panel line on the right wing's upper surface)
The lines on the bottom came out quite broad, but I think they wll look alright with some microfiller applied.
The line at the top was really challenging though. I tried to rescribe it, but the wing broke loose a bit, so I had to fill the resulting gap with superglue (plastic glue would create a total mess in this situation). That made all the scribing a real pain (i only have a hobby knife and a razor saw for this task). That particular panel line has some slight curves as well, to make things even worse... I just hope this looks nice with the microfiller sprayed on... You can't hide anything with paint when building a NMF bird...
No worries Stik, just wanted to make sure I hadn't missed it. Sounds like a great idea you have there.

Ok then, vignettes it will be. I have been wanting to do several of them for ages. Some are based off of photos of the invasion, and others will be based off of incidents described in books. And perhaps one from the movie "The Longest Day" ;-)

A.K.A. Ken Making Modeling Great Again
Not unless they throw in a "Bill the Cat" emoticon as well...
Way back in the Day I was entered with the Italeri 1/72 A.S.21 Horsa glider. I can stick with that.
Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
Well Stik, if you are going that way, you will need some Screaming Eagles, no doubt.
We need a flamethrower emoticon (or one with a shotgun) to respond to Bitbite's posts
I already have that one planned and covered my friend... and an All American too if I can pull it off...
Stik, that's great, look forward to it.
Do you have much info on the types of gliders used by US paratroops? My Horsa comes with both US and British markings. I remember reading somewhere that the US used the Waco primarily and not the Horsa, but I need to read up more.
O BTW I already have a C-47 from the last one of these GB's!
EDIT: seems there was plenty of action to go around of course, so there were both types all over.
I'm excited about this one!

You'll need more than that to vanquish me, son!

That I'm disturbed? I wasn't born that year. Same month and day, but not that year.
The year of my birth? 6-6-67

Apologies to Schatten for my very rusty High School German ;-)
Rusty German? That sentence you wrote there is perfect German! Very well said, sir!
Ich bin der Teufel?
Meh. *makes a couple of half-hearted stabs Schatten with the trident. Drops it and goes to look for some dinner*
