What ever the problems, you seem to have not to grips with them. What was the issue, I am guessing getting the boom lined up correctly.

Excellent work, everyone.  As far as I go, my M4 arrived yesterday.  As soon as I finish the SAS jeep I'm working on (which is almost done), I'll start the M4!

Tonight, when i had it laying upside, i could tell it was off just tiny little bit. Then I put in the horizontal stabilizer, and that seemed to straighten things out. 

I have Dragon's 1/72 P-38 J. Anyone else done that kit and is there anything I should keep watch for?

shiv, I couldn't find anything on the J, but I found some reviews on a couple of other Dragon P-38 kits, so I should imagine they will be similar.

Not sure how old your kit is compared to this two. The first one seems to be an older kit.

And here goes the dot filter on, I'm kinda a wuss at this, using earth tones instead of stark contrast like bright red or blue. 

Now that looks sweet. Looking forward to seeing your filter comes out.

looking good so far Gamera. I have yet to get the nerve to try a dot filter. tried it on a couple pieces of scrap and couldn't get it to come out right.

I tried it once, I couldn't really see any difference. I am going to try some ready made filters soon.

Thanks guys, when I get home from work it should be dry and hopefully won't look too bad. I'm still learning the whole thing, either they turn out too heavy and end up visible or I thin too much and yeah, they disappear.

Lol, I took the kit in and put the dots on at our IPMS meeting. None of the armour guys showed up but I had several of the auto guys staring at me like: 'OMG, he's finally lost it! He's putting little dots on that tank- he's completely friggin' nuts now!!!'

Yea I know, It was really showing thr seams. But It will sand down nice. LOL

Anyway the Churchill after drying. Not the best photos but I really don't feel like dragging out the camera, finding the tripod, and then finding the USB cable to connect it to the PC when I can just snap a cell phone photo and tap a few keys on the PhotoBucket app to upload it.

Sorry but I am not only crazy but lazy too...

Just put on the wash today, we'll see how it turns out.

Bitbite: Whoops! I had to scroll back, I thought I read you had ordered the kit, not that it arrived. I have to agree with SP, I'd have pulled the cellophane off like it was Christmas morning and well... greedily fondled the parts...

SP: Sorry, nope this one only mounts the big mortar on the front.  Though I'm still not sure what those weird mounts on the side are for, maybe the mat or a dozer blade???

That's looking great. I think we will soon have our first finished build.

I only use the tripod for finished build pics.
