Never having entered a group build before, I will need guidance if admitted. While I'm not a huge builder of Navy birds, I do have a couple in the stash, and this has prompted me to get designs on one that I've had waiting for a dozen years or more.
I also had committed that this year would be my year to start on the Tamiya F-14A original release that I bought 30 years ago and have been afraid to start for fear of my skills not being adequate. I just know there is no way that particular project will get done by 12/31.
In looking to avoid a 'me too', I pulled out my Hasegawa Skywarrior. My concern is that my chosen livery appears to be a ground pounder flying out of Rota, Spain (probably shadowing Rooski's in the Med). I also have a pic of a sister bird on the Tarmac at NAS Alameda.
Would that bird qualify? If not, maybe a trip to the LHS is in order, as they had an EKA a year or more ago and I've got the options to do either a Roosevelt or Kittyhawk skinned tanker.
Worst case I've got a RoG F-18 that could be pressed into service.
Let me know and I'll give you my decision.
