Thanks, Mikey. I use a 2/0 brush to outline the windows. I will also dip my brush in thinner before dipping it in the paint, wiping off excess on inside of bottle. You should be able to find them at your local hobby or art store.

hey mikey
if you use acrylic paints that isn't much of a problem. a soft toothpick dipped in windex can usually scrape off thge overrun without damaging the clear
hey greg
nice detail work. did you paint the edges of the clear window the same color as where it was mounted?

waynechey greg nice detail work. did you paint the edges of the clear window the same color as where it was mounted?
Thanks Wayne, I think it matches....if not it's just a shade darker.
hi greg
i will try that on my next build with windows. same color or a tad darker like a gasket. good to know.
gave a presentation on weathering to my ship club today. later spent about 40 min on a 1/350 ww2 GEARING DD i am building for a friend. needed a bifg part break so i started the italeri 1/24 jeep. old kit and i just finished an afv club 1/35 jeep w/ 106mm RR (armor forum and IDF GB)so it was an interesting contrast. less detailed build. plastic tire halves may be annoying and may try airbrushing for weathering.
Hi Mikey,
I want to support you with this GB. Please put me down for an ADAC Eurocopter in 1/72.
cheers
Tony
I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

very nice. paint job looks good, NO decal silvering, windows and trim are crisp. will pick up my german fire truck wed PM but won't get to it for a bit.
Nice job, Pyr. Looks really good. I'll add that to the list.
Mikey & Wayne: thanks for your kind comments, much appreciated!
Tony: looking forward to your EuroCopter build - there is a MedFlight base a few miles from my house at OSU/Don Scott Field - love watching the helo's fly over.

I'd better go and buy it then.
Lovely workout on the Crown Vic there, Greg! Your window trim treatment will come in handy for future projects.

George Lewis:
I didn't but the Eurocopter, it had gone. I've got this instead, and will do the AB212 version on the box top.
Cheers
Tony: you could use that kit to build this -

Thanks Greg, that's a tempting photo. I think I just might. I guess I'd have to come up with the decals myself, but they don't look hard.

Wayne: if you haven't started your fire jeep yet, check out this website: http://www.film.queensu.ca/cj3b/fire/FireIndex.html
Ok. I have a little update on the 1000. Recently (as of a few hours (wow... Time really does fly)) I have repainted the dash and panel above the dash semi-gloss black, I have cemented the wheels onto pegs on the frame, cemented panels of the wheel wells on to the underside of the body, painted some red onto little reflectors/tiny-lights/shiny-things-on-the-rear-running-boards with a tiny brush that measures under a millimeter in width, and I assembled the bell and air horn. I'd post pictures but my computer doesn't want to cooperate with me while doing so.
Ok guys. Badges have been added. Thanks goes out to Waynec for making the badges and Pyrman for providing the some backdrop and some elements of the badges.
No update as yet Mikey. However the badges are excellent.
I'll change my entry to this please.
Thanks
I'm looking forward to your 117 build...used to see one all the time that looked like this:
Then MedFlight changed their marking to this:
hi all. update
this Gb is on hold until i finished up some others plus some projects i have overcommitted too. the firejeep chassis is together and the body, motor, and tires are ready to prime. working on other parts here and there (hose real, hoses, front bumper pump) and will prime it all at once. just ordered the trumpeter la france pumper and to squadron books on fire fighting equipment. now to find a good big fireboat.
since i continue to have good luck trying new techniques, i may use less expensivecraft acrylic paints on this one.
Wayne: the only fireboat model I've ever seen is the old Revell 1/82(?) FIREFIGHTER kit, which is usually expesive on evil-bay. JimnOhio has one for $20.00 + $6.00s/h (USD) www.jimnohio.com/misc.html
Also, I was a volunteer firefighter for 23yrs, so if you need info, just ask.
i just dropped him an email. didn't see any boats on the site. i agree evilbay has some outrageous prices. i have the revel german truck and got the italeri volvo bucket truck at > half off at an stash sale. my best friend's sister's boyfriend build him one when it came out. 5 years later it died an honorable death by BB guns.
i will ask when i have questions. i grew up in baltimore and the la france has college park (university of maryland) markings.
Wayne: if you click on the link in my previous post and scroll down past the cars (7th row) you'll see the ship kits. The Revell FiREFIGHTER kit is on the left column.
thanks greg
i now have a boat. forwarded the site to a friend who builds motorcycles. this keeps up i may have to sell off the WW2 stash
missed this post earlier
looks like a good site and i am in the basic construction stage so timing is great. have a few to finish builds ahead of this. have to look at all my GB end dates plus ipms nationals and prioritize
my frau walked in while i was looking at the fireboat. i mentioned something about it and she said "well i guess you better get it now before it's gone." nice to have that kind of support.
