Ken, the F4 is looking amazing! Do you have any detail images of your cockpit assembly? It looks fantastic in your test-fit pic. I think I may have seen some details in another thread, those ejection handles look familiar... Is that a resin cockpit detail set? I'm debating picking one up for my Skyraider as the stock cockpit is nothing special. The F104 may also need some additions. I bought a resin cockpit for my most recent Mosquito kit but didn't even use it as the Tamiya stuff included was so excellent and fit perfectly together. I'm still pretty rubbish at trimming down resin parts and really getting the most out of them.
I think I will have to make another field trip to the USAF Museum in Dayton, OH before I move away from Michigan. I have been twice in the last two years and still can't get enough! If anyone needs any photos of particular aircraft let me know and I'll take a bunch of pictures down there.
So true about the Vietnam veterans. It's been really interesting learning more about the war and the way that people were treated during, after and since. I've only been in the United States a little over three years so it's definitely been eye-opening. My "adopted" grandfather here in MI was a Marine in Vietnam and is the most wonderful gentleman. I've had so much fun going to airshows with him and learning all about his experiences and the men he served with, and also the horrible treatment they were often subjected to coming home.
