The mains are in place and unfortunately she's a tail sitter. I was unable to add any nose weight because the CMK resin engine takes up just about all the open space up front. I wanted to display this on a wooden plank area as seen in late war pictures so no problems as I will attach the nose wheel to the planks with a pin to keep her nose down.

I was hoping to leave the landing gear off to be detailed and installed after painting the plane body but no recessed attachment points are provided in the wells which will make for a stronger join. I will have to Plast I Weld the gear now before painting to ensure a good bond.

Finally was able to start up on my Arrow and completed the plumbing on the other well to busy up things a bit

Since the bomb bay is going to be open to show off the extra fuel tank, I separated the doors and cleaned up the sink marks and got the cowl parts together 

I have several of these black plastic containers that are actually frozen dinner microwavable trays. I use them for grouping model parts

I was up early after a largish night last night, so I decided to start my Hobby Boss 1/72 Do 335A. All the parts are off the sprue, and cleaned up, and I'm ready to start construction now.

I'm going to use Berna Decals sheet 72-45 to reproduce a French aircraft from the early post war years.

Thanks Ridge.  The Tornado obviously doesn't have all the fiddly bits on it yet, and I haven't even finished out the decals, but making some good progress.  I intend to get back to my  Arrow this weekend now that the holiday season is over, and I can move away from shopping, cooking etc, and back to building.

Wow... Cool looking Tornado!, Your right about some odd little parts like you found! Holy crap!~ I could barely handle those and tweezers would likely launch them into the "Void of lost parts" if I tried them. I found a cool little part one time in the train section (HO) brake hand wheel that was perfect for a Bf109 trim tab adjusting wheel. Also you can find some nice dry transfers down to some very small sizes, I like to use to put ser# on DB engine blocks.Again, nice Tornado!

Got me a Revell of Germany 1/32 Salamander from Squadron for  $18. Lots of room for scratch building in this larger scale for the future GB.

funny. everybody is now checking to say why we haven't checked in. will do mine as a 2 seater so i can crossover with the trainer. wonder what the biggest number of crtossovers for a kit is? my JGSDF TYPE 87 SPAA fits 3 so far. picked up 2 more 1/35 trucks today

Yep, guilty here as well. I know I haven't started mine yet, but still no excuse not to check it.

Just checked here and can't believe this thread has hit a brick wall, no new postings. I'm guilty too as I have been caught up with other things around the house and haven't been able to work on my Arrow at all. Still have to add the plumbing to the right well but after that is done the paint should be next.

thanks Mustang. I too don't know squat about photo shop either so If you could please shoot me a pm on just how u did it for future use. I contacted FSM and they were able to do something to get my badge in.

Yes my brutha! Youre going to have to combine your GB badges in photo shop on your computer, save it and then upload the saved file with the two GB badges to photobucket ,THEN you can paste it into your profile from photobucket.

On a sort of related note, I was trying to add the DO335 GB Badge but it's highlighting in red that the signature field is only allowed 512 characters.  I'm well bellow 300 characters (including both badges) but won't allow me to post the badge the same way I posted my FW190 GB one. Any suggestions?

Thanks . Hey that's weird, several days back I could not get on the forum so I called FSM and a very nice lady helped me out. Apparently I had to click on a box accepting the Explorer 11 and it worked.

I did some gizmology and added bits and pieces of stretched sprue and small thingies to busy up the wheel well. I still need to repeat this process on the other well. I also added thin wiring to the front engine and drilled out both cowl gun muzzles.

Still need to play around with some more thingies here and there just to busy up things. The flash makes the engine look a bit light and dirty but not so in normal light.

That's what I'm gonna do for the GB.  What version are you planning?  I want to start mine at the end of the month after I finish my son-in-laws Christmas present (a 1/25 Batmobile) and I think I am going for pretty much out of the box build with some extras.

Edit: Come to think of it, I did some research on the pilot of the P-47 depicted, took a little time to track down from the identification numbers (come to find out this a/c was shot down, not by an "Arrow").  I will have to see if the Do-335 can be done……doubt it.

Sorry for my lack of replies lately. Windows updated my Internet Explorer to IE11 and the FineScale community site doesn't work with that version. I backdated it now to IE10 and everything works again.

I wanted to add some wiring to dress up the wells but I plan to permanently mount the Arrow on a planked tarmac so the details will not be seen. I may just plug in the wings and continue without the wiring. Still debating the alternate "what if" scheme.

I'm ok with what-if paint.  Me, I'm gonna be boring, but I'm working from a slightly different perspective.  I've gotten this whole new collection idea working.  Maybe I'll work up a what if with a different build.

Lots of work in that B2 Junkie.  Looking real good.

Shep: Paint colors were hit and miss late in the war. Although the RLM developed a new paint order about the time your airframe was built that was 81 and 82 103 was documented with a light and dark green with the dark green closer to an olive than what we call 81 Braunviolette, and was the typical late war 262 colors of the same 81/82/76.  I think you are good with your colors.. 

Reasoned: I'm sure that Clemens will welcome you with open arms.  He's an inclusive sort. Hell, he let me in, even if I dropped off the face of the planet on his Carrier GB.
