Thanks, I have a Flakpanzer Ostwind on this build that I haven't started yet, and I thought this was the other build. What an idiot. Thanks again.

hey eagle . thanks. i built the SA-2 earlier this year and not for this build. it was not my intention to take away from shivinigh's buiuld. i posted the pic to show how big that thing is. i don't think i realiized it until i finished.. during the '73 sinai campaign some were lowered and fired at IDF tanks swanning on the west bank. as a former tank commander seeing one of those coming at me would cause serious pucker factor.

Wayne, nice work there my friend!  Those decals do look tiny!  Lot of meticulous work there huh?  Great job!

Shiv, wow that is a big one!  Great job!  I had to run down stairs and stack the paint bottles just to see! Embarrassed

hey shivinigh you got the hard part done except for the decals. they are annoying, small and the instructions aren't very good. but it's cyrillic so no one will know if they are right side up or not. DON'T put on the "take no pictures" decal 3 of us never figured out where that even came from

it is big. here is mine next to an IDF SHO'T KAL.

gor some work done on my SA-2. Here is the missile together and primed. The paintbottles are stacked beside it to give an idea of how big this missile is.

Glad you folks enjoyed it. Figured there would be nough 88's to well sink a destroyer. I was originally going to do and Aegis cruiser but settled on the destroyer cause a friend of mine served on one.

I agree. Great work Shiv, I like it for its originality as much as anything else. Must get around to something naval myself one of these days. None so far this year.

Cheers

I was talking with a guy from the ship builders forum and alot of the US ships have differant tones of grey for the hull and superstructure. I just put a bit too much blue when I mixed my grey. Apparently with the crew doing touch up paint during a deployment you can end up with 5 or more differant shades.

The lines on the Arleigh Burkes are growing on me. Nice looking  build there. Might I ask why the two tone gray scheme?

Taxtp the Kugelblitz and Wirbelwind look great.

Other than some rigging I am calling this one done. USS Momsen. Arleigh Burke class guided missile destroyer.

now to get back to work on that SA-2

the FLAK wasn't at the LHS but the JGSDF type 87 SPAA was and on clearance so, even with indy track, i got it and a new history of tanks jigsaw puzzle. this was the closer west COLPAR store. the larger east store had a community sidewalk sale and i got a carrier evolution jigsaw puzzle and the new meng D9R armored bulldozer at 25% off.

Tony: The Wirbelwind looks fantastic!  The Kugelblitz is coming along nicely....would look great with a nice Dunkelgelb camo.

Thanks for the encouragement guys. I've put a couple of filters on both of these models today, so I'm gonna let them dry overnight.

In the meantime, I've started on the Mobelwagen chassis. At last Tamiya have ditched the cast item, and given us some good ole plastic.

Cheers
