The AFV club M-10 leaves me in sticker shock, I agree that if you want a decent kit, You should pay a little more, but the AFV club kits are way out of my league and I dare to say they would be out most peoples price range. I'll do some more investigating. Please keep me signed up. but I'll let you know what I'm going do.

I don't understand why the prices on AFV Club web site are so much more. I did some more research and found others are selling these kits at a big discount. Why?

Any how, I still want to do the M 10, it will be 1:35 scale AFV Club. Any change of plans will be posted here as they happen.

ok this is my pick I would like to do the academy first you know to get my armor legs if it fits in the GB ?  

if not just add my marder 2.   looking foreword to getting started.

Hi, My Uncle Bill was in a tank destroyer and won a silver star for his actions at the "Bridge at Remagen" I already was planning on doing an M 10 next year. So, I'll enlist.

Which is the better scale for this? I see Tamiya has both 1/48 scale and 1/35 scale.

Tamiya's 1/35 scale M10 is a horrible, ancient kit originally designed as a motorized toy. More recent kits by Academy and AFV Club are vastly superior to the 40 yr old Tamiya kit.

Tamiya's 1/48 scale M10 is a great little kit, but suffers from their diecast metal lower hull. Not too much of an issue, just annoying.

My scale of choice would be 1/35, as with all of my armor models.

I don't know anything about the 1/48 Tamiya kit, but the 1/35 version is a decent kit if you want a quick and easy build with a convincing end result. It's not that detailed though... If you don't mind quite a bit of extra work resulting in a more detailed model, I'd recommend you have a look at the AFV-Club kit. It includes a very detailed turret and hull interior as well...

I have two kits that I may potentially build for this; a Trumpeter Sturer Emil or an old Monogram StuG IV that was partially started. Both kits are 1/72 scale. If I get especially motivated and time permitting, I may build them both.

Edit: I'll build the ex-Esci Italeri Panzerjager I in 1/72 scale.

I think that's good enough. I won't be able to start this year though. I have too many builds on my bench that have to be finished untill Dec. 1st...

You don't have to fund anything. I have all the stuff I need to build it in my stash already:

• Kinetic F-16AM
• Aires cockpit set
• Eduard masks
• Syhart decals

Just give me a good reason to build it and I'll do it...

Holy smokes Clemens, that is an awesome F-16!  That would be a beautiful build!  Shot, I'll help you fund it just to see it built!

Eagle: I know what you mean. I have a kinetic F-16 in my stash for some time now and I really feel the urge to build it, although I'm not a huge jet fan (except WW2 jets). I even found a great looking F-16 I want to build:

The decals for this beaty are bloody expensive: they cost me 30€ while the kit was 40€, but I just love the look of this particular bird. I saw it on an airshow here in Austria this summer and it was an amazing sight! I'm just looking for a reason to build her...

I'll participate. I have probably a dozen different World War 2 anti-tank armor kits in 1/76, 1/72, 1/48, 1/35

1/48 is not my scale and I never had a look at any Bandai kit, but I have a big Nashorn kit (1/35) in my stash, as well as Dragon's Hummel (basically the same thing with a 15cm howizer) I really like the look of those vehicles!

Yeah, I'd rather do it in 1/35, but I have had this kit in the stash for some time now and the more I look at it, it grows on me.  So I think it will fit very well with the GB.  I know what you mean about the looks of the vehicles.  This thing just looks like trouble!
