That looks like a very interesting camo scheme on the Jagdpanther. Are you going to be doing that scheme as well Tony?

I'm new to this forum, but I can't resist a good tank destroyer!

I'll be doing this for the GB:

Happy new year guys! I'm glad I can finally kick this one off before I have to go back to work next week.

I haven't started anything yet but that's what tomorrow is for. I think I'll just keep it simple and build it oob at this stage, although the parts look great on the sprue so I don't think any after market items are needed.

ddanne, Blitzwing, those are two really nice looking kits!  The Panzerjaegers will be represented well in this GB!

Tony, I didn't even know there was a G2 version of the Jagdpanther!  You're off to a fast and early start!

Ernest since the rules allow it and the suspension is such a boring job I did the above building Monday.

Started early this morning on the upper hull and will have a big part of that done in a short.

Wow Tony. You've pretty much finished the building stage already and the build is only two days old. Those Dragon Smart kits really do make construction a fairly straight forward affair.

I didn't have to waste time with the interior because there isn't one and I had already built the Early G1 so I knew about where everything went, those two things helped out a lot.

Thanks for looking in on me guys

Wow, that's an amazingly quick start, Tony! Everything's looking fantastic so far! The G1 looks great as well!

Everyone: Sorry for my absence lately. I had some serious connection issues, so I wasn't able to access the forum at all. I'll get the build roster updated ASAP.

Cheers, Clemens

Hey Tony, that is some nice work!

Haven't even started here, I'm hoping to get some more stuff polished off first though I did start on my build for Tigerman's North Africa GB (sorry I did sign up for it first though!)

Clemons: Hope you get that cleaned up- I know what a hassle it can be.

WT???  Surprise  Tony, it would take me two weeks to do what you did in two days!!  LOL!  The GB is off to a good start!

So here's what I'm working on:  Italeri 1/35 Jagdpanzer IV.  Its an older kit that lacks the detail of the newer releases, but perhaps a bit more detail than the older Tamiya kit.  I started building this for the orginal Hunter's GB about five years ago, but never finished.  The lower hull is done, but has problems.  I also worked on the upper hull, removing some molded details and installing the intake housings.  The photos below just show how it looked before this GB started.  I estimate its about 40% assembled, but I'm going to rework some of it as mentioned below.

A couple of bogie housings on both sides of the lower hull have sink marks that I never noticed so I'll have to fill those in.

The worst area is the rear engine plate.  Its littered with pin marks.  When I first assembled it I didn't care, but now I feel it needs to be replaced.  I'll look in the spares box to see if I have an extra set that will work, or I may order a resin replacement from TMD (Tiger Model Designs).  If neither is an option I may just scratchbuild a entire new rear plate!

BTW Clemens, I noticed that we might still need a Soviet badge.  I took the liberty of putting one together.  Let me know if you're interested in using it.  I used Cyrillic for "HUNTERS", but I'm not really sure if that's accurate!  Huh?

Ernest: Looks great so far! I can tell you're an expert modeler by the way you're dealing with the injection marks- a slob like me just covers them up with mud!!!

And love the Soviet badge, don't know if it's correct but I like it.

Ernest: At least you found them I usually don't pick up on flaws like that until after the painting stage.

This is what I was able to get done today. The kit practically falls together which doesn't explain why I only achieved so little really.

However I was given the unfortunate news that I will be without car tomorrow so I will be home all day. I have no idea what I should do with myself tomorrow.

Tony, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but all your wheels have gone missing! Surprise  Darn!  Looks like you'll have a delay while you source a new set....Whistling.  Guess some of us might now have a chance of catching up to you! Stick out tongue

Gotta love the lines of the Jagdpanther. I reckon it's one of the best looking armoured vehicles ever.

Reporting some progress.  Most of the lower hull is complete.  I need to clean up the road wheels (bad parting lines).

I managed to fine a 1/72nd scale Dragon StuG IV that I had made some headway on a while back (but nothing too dramatic).  I'll snap some photos later.

WOW! Talk about speed... I would'nt be able to build the lower hull of that Jagdpanther in the time it takes you complete the whole construction phase! She's looking great! A nice clean and quick build (I've never seen someone build a Dragon kit in such a short time) My hat's off to you, Tony!

Good grief Tony! Awesome work on the Jagdpanther. Ditto what SS said on never seeing someone build a Dragon kit so fast! Can't wait to see it all painted up.

ddanne, looking good so far!

Blitzwing, Nice work on the Marder!

As for me I might start on my build today. Looks like my little 38t should be pretty straightforward.

Started on my little tank hunter late last night.

This is sure isn't a Dragon kit!

The hull is made up for flat panels my favorite, not!

The hull sides had some nasty pin marks on them. Got them looking OK, not worrying to much since the road wheels will cover them.

And here's the hull gluded together. Ended up fighting with it for thirty minutes before I was happy with it.

Stopped at this point so the glue could dry.

Great talent posted on this GB! That Jagdpanther looks great and going by quick.

Snake.... I will be taking a break from my other GB and start on my project soon which is the Eduard 1/35 Hetzer with complete interior. Have you figured out the camo scheme for yours?
