Jibber, SilentBob33, Wiccan Warrior, Gamera, Bsyamato, and Doug - thanks very much guys.

I'll be sure to check in for more completions from our group, there's a nice variety both in subject and eras.

regards,

Jack

Jack: Wow, what a beautiful job there! Love the extra work there on the fuselage grab handles and the different sorts of wiring you used. And I've always loved the orange of the trainer/experimental type aircraft. Going to update the front page now!

WW: Ack, what a pain. So you're building a hybrid Hasegawa/Airfix kit with resin update parts? Looking forward to seeing how you do this!

Terry - looking good!

Jack - congrates! That is amazing!!

I started the cleanup to the parts on the Hasegawa Starfighter. Only to realize that it was one of those F-104J models that Hasegawa forgot to take the sprue tree out for the F-104S kit!! Screeching halt! I had heard the rumors about that but never in my wildest dreams did I believe I would end up with one! I love the Italian F-104S retirement schemes so much. Since I want to really take my time on that one and not feel rushed I hope no one minds that I swap that out for an Airfix kit. Now, a lot of parts out of  the Hasegawa kit I will be using on the Airfix one. I have a Verlinden 1/72 F-104 update set, plus the seats are different anyway and Hasegawa included both. Yeah, I know it's a dog and I got my work cut out for me. But I assure you all that it will turn out presentable!

The Ki-9 Spruce is now done.

I cajoled it as best I could, so here it is in all it's resin glory:

I've found a couple museum pieces and a jungle ruin left on Peleliu I believe that show a very detailed interior, but still theres no way of seeing any of it. The vents that Dragon supplies are basically solid and even if I had a set of PE, I really don't think you could see much if anything. If you choose to leave the pontoons off the clamps would show but it's still going to be a nice build of a very cool and limited run of floatable tanks.

I need to pull out my kit and look at it again but I don't think they included seats or a bunch of other interior parts. Just seems funny you get the internal tanks, the wheels to jettison the pontoons, and some other parts but not other stuff.

I'd be almost tempted to just imagine an interior- I mean not many experts of Japanese armour at our shows to tell the difference!

If there was a way of seeing thru the vents I would've left them open, but theres not much I can do with what I have to work with. I left one of the fuel covers open but that may be about it other than the cupola that I'll leave open. I get suckered in every time on these kits, I'll work up a full interior hoping that some will be visible but it's hardly ever the case.

Terry: Looks very good! I was a little puzzled by the partial interior they provide mostly as you said parts that won't be visible once closed up.

I decided I will do the Hasegawa F-104J Starfighter "J.A.S.D.F." kit no.01001, which was the first of the really nice second-generation F-104 kits that Hasegawa came out with. I have the most Hasegawa Starfighters so I should start making a dent in the stash! I have pics but Photobucket is down right now. :-/

Finally! The parts are in a tub getting a bath now!

Jack, That sir, is one fine looking Bi-Plane! Very cool indeed!

Jibber... Cant wait to see this one come together. Loads of detail... Love it, I'm not real good with armor and such, and I really appreciate those who can do them right!

Terry: Yeah, I thought the washers were an interesting feature, looking forward to seeing how they work out.

WW: That's ok, I normally put down the manufacturer in case someone wants to know what kit was used but it's not a big deal.

Btw: Love you sig line- I think that's just before Starbuck and Cassie start getting it on in the launch tube and Athena turns the steam flush on his two-timing #$#!  Stick out tongue

Very neat tank, Terry! Gamera - I wasn't sure which one I was going to do, that's all! I have at least a few 1/72 Starfighters by all the major manufacturers! LOL

Hey WW, sure - you're in! And welcome aboard!

Only question I have is I've been listing the kit brand as well.

Jack: I know what you mean about resin kits. What you've got so far looks amazing though- the rigging is fantastic!

Terry: Very cool! It's such a neat little tank. I assume you're building her with the pontoons on?

Hello all! I would like to join in with a 1/72 JASDF F-104 Starfighter, not sure yet which markings. Been a long while since I did a GB, even longer since I done any these forums! Great builds all, BTW!! ;-)
