Ken, I had a check and could find any 48th decals. I think Jimmy flew in several B-24's. The decals I have are for male Call, I have found some pics on line. I could also send you the image from the decal sheet I have if you want, not sure if that will help.

Bish, I would like to build the German "UHU", Sd. Kfz. 251/20 Ausf.D in 1/35 by AFV. I believe this particular I/R searchlight vehicle was first put to use in 1944.

I found a video this morning on youtube on a German U-boat U-1105 "Panther" sunk in the Potomac River near Tall Timbers, MD.

I never heard this before, Anyone else?

jibber, I will be watching that one, got the same kit myself. I am happy to se any variant of the 251. I am a bit unsure as to the actual introduction of the /20, the sources I have seem a bit confusing. They were reportedly only issued to a unit in Feb 1945, but I get the impression that there were some example in very late 44. So your in.

Ken, I hadn't heard of it before, but there is info here, I love this site. It surrendered in Scotland at the end of the war, transferred to the USN and was used in depth charge tests, being sunk twice.

i i heard of that uboat but only because i was visiting a friend at PAX NAS many years ago and saw a brochure about diving on her. it is a great website for uboat stuff.

As near as I can tell. it's about 10 miles upstream from the entrance to the river, or directly out from the Piney Point Lighthouse

I would like to join please. 

It will be a 1/48 Spitfire LF IX (not sure what company yet).

I want to do it up as the bird flown by a family friend on June 15, 1944 when he shot down a 109 from I.JG/27 near Caen.

Does anyone know where I could find a place that sells generic 1/48 letters for Sqn codes and Serial Numbers.

Xtradecals does those for RAF aircraft in most scales. I think also Techmod, but I have read of many unhappy expereinces with their decals.

G-J, Tamiya do a Mk VI and it's pretty good  I think. Do you have decals for it ?  I think PD Decals did them years ago, not sure who else. I'm pretty sure they're in my 1/48 RAAF stash somewhere.

Tony - thanks for the post.  No, I don't have decals yet (don't have the model yet either.  I have a stash of 0.)  But thanks for the heads up on the decals...that was one of my questions....is where I would find decals of that squadron.

I would like to enter with a 1:72 Academy P-51B.  It'll be my first build in close to 25 years, so no promises on quality!

I think I may give this one a go. I'll build something we put on the beaches of Normandy on D-Day in 1/72 scale. I know I have a couple of LCM3 and D-Day Shermans.

Any way, Here's a question. I was looking at the Tamiya V-1 today, and came accross a Pegasus 1/16 V-1 It's only a few dollars more, unless you get the already built version, but, that's no fun.

My ? is which do you think would be the better kit? Or, if anyone can answer from experience that would be great.

OPP's, yes it is. That's not even how we spell it.

A 1/16th V-1, now that would be something. I would imagine it would not be quite as detailed as the Tamiya, but then how much detail is there is a V-1. And it would certainly be impressive.

OPP's, yes it is. That's not even how we spell it.

A 1/16th V-1, now that would be something. I would imagine it would not be quite as detailed as the Tamiya, but then how much detail is there is a V-1. And it would certainly be impressive.

Ok, I'm going to get the Pegasus 1/16 V-1 . I've never had a kit that big. Put me down for it and take off the Tamiya V -1. Then if things workout, I may get the Tamiya V-1 kit later

I was just doing a search, and came across a build of it on here from 2 years ago, I was even the first to comment on it lol. He says its 1/18th, and theres not much to it.

And I think the Tamiya kit comes with a trolley, which the Pegasus doesn't.
