Looks nice Eagle. Splinter camo isn't as easy as it seems is it. You think its all nice straight line, but its not that simple.

Hey all,

There are some great looking builds going on. Awesome job all. Update on the grandbaby, We get to go home this morning. There are still some tests out and he will have to come back in about three months for another MRI of his brain to see if the fluid is gone or more or the same.

Other than that he is doing great. He is a happy baby always smiling and laughing. I will get back and see if I can get more done on the Tiger II. Thanks for your prayers and comments for Conner.

That's good news Doug, give the family our best and tell them our best wishes are with you all.

And don't worry, there's plenty of time for the Tiger.

Here's an update. I masked what windows I could today. I had a couple in the front that started to push in so I decided not to mask them. Next time I will paint the fuselage before I put the windows in then touch up after assembly. Oh well lesson learned. I put the the primer coats on and did a quick test fit with the wings on. Wow is this a big bird. The hobby mat it is sitting on is 18" wide just for reference.

b een a little while s9ince I've been on this GB,

Nomad - glad to hear the little one is doing better.

Jsmith - your b 17 looks great. I'm doing the same kit, is yours the revell mono 1/48 kit

I have both a 17 and a 24 on the bench right now. I've been very hesitant abount putting the fuesalages together. When i did the PBY Catalina, I had to go back at the end and spray the seams. I masked all the windows individually, the window frames were unmasked. All in allI think it turned out pretty good

Doug

I'm glad to hear that Conner is doing better!!! Keep us posted on how he's doing. The Tiger is coming out great.

Eagle

That paint scheme is very neat. Well done.

Greentracker

Thank you for the input. I think next time it will be easier to paint the seam after it is put together. I put on a second coat today and it darkened it up a bit more to my liking.

Here is the latest pic of the B-24 I know there are too many props here, But I'm also doing a B 17

Don't tell anyone, I used the same pic in the unofficial B-17 GB too.

Bish - I have decided what I want to do with the B 24. It will be "The Strawberry ***"

Hmmm will this web site allow the B word?

Well here goes. No it won't.

If you don't know what I mean, Let me know and I'll figure out another way to tell you

Thank you checkmate!  I ALMOST went with just OD for the scheme, but talked myself out of it when I started researching the schemes.  This was the main one for 1944.

Nomad: What an incredible blessing to hear that Conner is faring so well. I am so happy for you and your family and I will certainly keep the prayers coming until is out of the woods.

Eagle: Oh, but wait, there's more! Alright, it's cool to see that there is more to the splinter scheme. You have executed the scheme very very well. Just some great stuff coming out of your camp.

Bish....thank you so much for hosting this GB!  I have had a blast doing the V2 and watching all the other awesome builds going on here.  To everyone...super job!

Well, I have about 6-7 hours on this kit!  3-4 are just taping!  Embarrassed  I tried to get the camo as close as I could to the German Scheme #4 used in 1944.  Like I have said, this was the most challenging splinter type camo I have done so far.  But I think it turned out alright.  Not perfect, but pretty good for an old guy!

So here is the stand and rocket with just a hint of wear to it.  Mostly around the access panels on the rocket and of course the stand has some "blast" marks from previous launches.  Hope you like it!

Eagle90

Here she is on the display shelves next to the Glencoe Jupiter C in 1/48 and a Condor V2 in 1/72 (just found that one in a box the other day!) Embarrassed

Great looking rockets Eagle, I have my V-1 finished except the decals. But I just keep forgetting about it

I'll try to remember and do decals real soon. I thought I would be the first done with it, but now its looks like i might the last one LOL

Eagle' That really is awesome! Honestly, that is some very excellent work you have done there. The weathering you have done on the pad looks great. Thank You for sharing your wonderful V2 with us.

So, what's up next? You know there is is still a good bit of time left here in the GB and it would be a shame to see you not participating some more. Just sayin'Wink

Stand alone she's 16", on the stand it's 17".  A very nice kit!  Great fit, good instructions, very nice detail!
