LOL. I wish I could get hold of an R-2800 without paying a small fortune for it. I'm talking big engines here Wink

No kidding. One of my neighbors does R/C. I hear him over there running them up in his garage sometimes. I was not about to be outdone...

SPEAK UP, I CAN'T HEAR YOU.

have you guys seen the Top gear Episode where they have two cars, one with an engine from a Spitfire and the other an engine from an He 111.

This is just an excerpt.

Pilot: That's the stuff!

Bish: LOL. Those guys sure look like they are having fun! I wonder if those cars would go any faster if someone would stick a 2000 HP windmill at the back? Hmm... Hmm Nah, It'll probably just shred the transmission. 2000 HP might be a bit too much...

pilot, are you sure you need to re order that book. I just ordered it and in the e-mail confirmation it says there is a guarantee that I will get it at the lowest price possible when it comes out, so if the price goes down, I get it cheaper, if it goes up, I don't pay any more than what it is now.

Thanks, Bish. You're right! I hadn't cancelled it yet, so all's well. In the previews of that book, there's a scheme for a G that looks interesting. I may do that once I get a better look at it.

I haven't looked at those, i'll check them out. I notice this says Vol 1, so I assume that means Vol 2 will be on the early models, or have they already done those.

There are several JU87 books out there by them that do seem to cover the earlier models. I found a JU87 Volume IV reference. They are out of production....Black Eye$$$$.
The one I ordered is a JU87D/G series #54, volume I. There is a JU87D/G #55 out already, volume II. It's not on amazon that I found.

It's for sale on the publisher's web-site.  25 Euro if memory serves correctly.  Interestingly, the publisher doesn't have volume 1 for sale. (at least I couldn't find it)  So get 'em while you can, I guess!

Ye, I was having a look through their site and spotted those earlier ones. A lt of their books seem to be out of stock, they don't seem to hang around long. I did see that other Vol of the 87D/G book and was a bit confused as it did seem to suggest it was already out. But it is in the pre sale section, so maybe that means it can be pre ordered.

Mike, Vol 1 is for sale, but you have to go to the Monographs section.

Ahhh, I bet I was looking in the New Releases section.  Well, can't beat the Amazon price anyway.  But, I can't decide if I like Stukas enough to make it my first reference library purchase...

Sorry BishEmbarrassed  At least I'm a 1:72 guy!Yes

Bish: I will be doing the AirFix JU-87 "Berta" in 1/72 scale. I haven't done anything that small in a while so while it may not be overly complicated it'll still be a challenge simply trying to see it!

Added it to the roster mikey, I am, sure you will be fine in that scale. If you do struggle, I would really suggest a magnifying headband if you don't have one. I use mine in what ever scale I am working in, but especially so in 72nd.

I'm ready for the Stuka build now!

That's nice pilot, I do like the scheme.

There was one Japanese Stuka, a Ju 87A sent to them before the war. I believe it was used to develop the dive brakes on the Val.

Joe, I think I may have unleashed a monster.

That's interesting. I'm not much of a fan of the A's but without em you wouldn't have the B's and D's!

Hey Bish, I just read the Japanese were sent two Stukas to evaluate before the war. Ironically, they were in a museum that was bombed by USAAF late in the war and apparently blown to smithereens!

2 was it, I hadn't read that and just assumed it was one. I had read that about the museum being bombed by the US.

Mustang, I do know what you mean, I think its those spats. But seeing as I am on a mission to build as many Stuka variants as possible, I can hardly leave it out. But I am not to keen on the appearance of it.

How about something fun to look at while we are waiting for this GB to start?  I'm sure a lot of us played with legos when we were kids.  I bet there's a few here who still do.  I stumbled across this awesome Lego creation on the web.

Here is the web page I found it on.  There are a couple more pictures of it there.

Thanks for the comments on the "Tony" , guys.

Dang. When I was a kid, all you could make with legos was a block house. A lego Stuka? Complete with guards and mechanics? A G model, no less! Good taste!

My son has the pro builder P-51 but I've never seen a stuka.  There is also a B-17 on that site too

I've been doing a little research on the Stuka's most unique feature; the Jericho-Trompete (Jericho Trumpet).  I ran across a few pictures in case anyone is interested.
