Thanks! And looking forward to the Super M26- I've got a M26 I want to build as a Korean War tank and going to have to pick up the Super too - well just because it's awesome!

Gamera, looking good. I can see some variation in the OD, I like it.

DD, a moment of silence was just observed here....

I want to get my Merkava along far enough that I can clear off enough space to comfortably work on the Super, hopefully next week.

OUCH DD - now that really sucks! Good to hear you've got another model though.

Here the Jumbo is starting to look like a tank now that she's got her OD on. I added some colour modulation though I'm not sure it's easy to see.

No problem Dan!  Got you changed up on the roster.  We will have a moment of silence for the Tamiya kit!  Is it crushed beyond any use?  That does suck!  Good luck on the rest of your move!  No more disasters!

Plans have changed on my build.  Instead of Tamiya's M4A3 Sherman, is it ok if I substitute it for Dragon's M4A3 (76)W?  The wife and I are in the process of buying a house and the Tamiya kit got boxed up and then....well....smooshed by accident.  (D'oh!!)  Anywhoo, I'd like to go all out on the Dragon kit with aftermarket add-ons and use the Tamiya Jeep with it.

Dan: Looks good! Amazing the detail they put into kits these days that you won't even see unless you model the truck rolled over!

FYI..... the hedgerow cutters, aka Culin/Douglas devices, were only used on 2nd/3rd Armored Division, 747th TB and 102d CRS tanks during the breakout of Normandy (Operation Cobra).  For those interested, there was an article in the March 2002 issue of the Journal of Military Ordnance by Steve Zaloga.  These were put on Sherman's (M4-mid, M4A1), Stuart's(M5A1), M8 and M10(3") GMCs.

Also, by the time the M4A3 showed up in France, the breakout was over.

Looks pretty good! Since the Cullen Devices were jury-rigged by field workshops I'd guess you don't have to be too careful about it being perfect.

I've got the running gear on the Sherman over the weekend. Will try to get some photos up soonish.

Well, it looks great and I think you are well on your way with the scratch building.  Great work!

Thanks!  This is only my second attempt at it personally.  I've always been more of an "O.O.B" guy but I've always wanted to try a hedge cutter and I thought, "what the heck!".

Haven't been brave enough to scratch build anything, but that looks great!  Awesome work.

I'll be darned...it worked first time!!  Anyway, I still have to attach it but I used Evergreen 1/4" angle to just make a simple 3 prong cutter.  I'm going to use a couple strips of flat styrene to attach it and give it that "welded to the hull" look.

Daddydan

I just saw this after being gone for awhile!  I hope it's not too late to count me in with Tamiya's M4A3 Sherman and Willy's Jeep.

Hey Dan,

Absolutely!  You are counted in!  Got you down.  Welcome aboard!
