Dawn of the Jet Age GB August 27th '14 - June 26th '15
Host: ajd3530
More info: The idea for this GB had a warm reception earlier in the year, so here it is. This August marks 75 years since the first flight of the world's first practical jet aircraft, the He 178. So to celebrate, I thought it would fitting to hold a group build dedicated to the first years of jet aircraft. I hope to see as many as possible join me!
1. Any JET aircraft (no rocket powered planes) from the early era of jet flight. NO super sonic aircraft. So basically anything sub-sonic or trans sonic that was built by the mid '50's or earlier is good. So for American aircraft, anything before the F-100 or F4D Skyray.
Note: Does NOT need to be a production aircraft. Any prototype is acceptable as long as it was actually built.
2. Aircraft of any nationality are welcome, any scale!
3. Crossovers are acceptable.
4. Builds already started must be no more than about 10% completed. (Basically painting of interior)
5. Any amount of aftermarket goodies is acceptable, or you can build straight out of the box.
6. "What ifs" are always fun, and will be perfectly fine. Imagine a P-80 dressed in the 356 FG's blue and red diamonds? Or if the Soviets captured some Me. 262s?
7. Please participate, comment, share ideas and stories, be respectful and supportive of others, POST LOTS OF PICTURES ( I LOVE seeing other people's work) and have fun!!!!
