But I just finished this one!

Though I do have the new Revell one in the stash, with some Hungarian markings on the way. And Eduard is releasing a new one this year...

Finally got the cockpit together on the Airfix Emil. So far it really is just falling together. A real pleasure to build.

Happy new year one and all

Ajd, that is coming together nicely. The new Airfix kits are really good, especialy at their price point.

Tucho, what can I say, great detail and great finish. Attention to ... everything is great - way more patience than me

Jack, those photos look excellent.

Last photos for my Gustav were in November when I was happily saying painting was done and on to decalling - stupid, stupid, stupid. I had decalled half the plane when I had the WRONG org marks for my plane. Ignoring the temptation to ignore the issue, I painted over the errors and got back into it.

Original (yes it is right if I was doing the kit scheme):

First correction attempt looked like a bad spray tan:

got better the next go:

Finished off the decalling, '6' is a dry transfer from Archers, worked out well after a few practises off the model.

Added a pin wash into panel lines and some exhaust smoke, now ready for the flat top coat. Should be done soon providing I don't screw anything else up...

Jay -- just superb, I wish there was one like that in my display case! Well... As Brandon said, are we 109'd out? Or...? Heck, I'll be plugging away on my E7 for a bit yet, and I never got back to finish the G-2 that's stalled at the canopy stage awaiting replacement parts, and I had a G-10 on my roster for 2016 anyway... :-) Lostagain -- I feel your pain! Chasing the finish around in circles is the part of the hobby I like the least, but your finished product is looking wonderful! M/TB379

I would be willing to jump in with a 190, I have one or two in my stash already.  Then again I have several more 109's as well, so I would be OK with a 2016 109 build.

I would go for any GB with numbers 0, 1, 9 (maybe even a PT)!

Hey Freem,

Thay is coming along nicely. Couldn't see the finished product, the link took me to PB's calendar page. Or it could be me and PB - it has been a frustration of late to put it nicely...

Did I say'providing I don't screw anything else up...'?

Well, almost - soon after I took the photos in the last post I dropped Gustav on the floor. Damage was minor - one leading edge flap fell off and a rudder pedal eventually came out of the tail wheel opening.

So carried on regardless, U/C, pitot, antenna, wheels and exhaust on and a flat coat. And so it is done:

Even managed to find a squadron badge to suit this plane. It is the plane that ended up in the Duxford IWM collection and was made flyable then crashed only a couple of years back.

I was happy with the result using lasercut paper seatbelts and will use them again. Also happy with the result of the canopy masking, probably my best to date, and not with AM masks either.

Thanks very much to Mustang for hosting this GB. There have been a lot of great 109s in evidence and some great colour schemes to boot.

This is not the end for my 109, it is heading over to the Aces GB to play in it's second act.

Thanks to all and have a great 2016.

Great build Lost. No pics from me. Santa brought me a Neo gravity feed airbrush. Sprayed the RLM 75 on my twin build tonight hopefully 74 goes on tomorrow. I'm pushing for a end of the week finish. We do have a grace period right?

Lostagain -- that is a gorgeous model and does ample justice to the real plane where she stands on exhibit at Hendon (at least that's where she was when I saw her several years back.) The camopy masking is very good -- I've ben masking from scratch myself lately, I've not been having much luck with precut masks for some reason...

I hope we have some grace period, I'd love to get one more completion!

Sorry gang! Here's what I should have posted as the finished product. My ancient vista computer sometimes doesn't move as fast as I wish and the mouse lags and...well, shtuff happens.

Really nice work everyone! It's been a pleasure hanging out with you guys for the past year. I am a few days late but here it is. 1/32 Trumpeter K-4 "White 10" JG27. Mostly OOB with the addition of RB Productions belts, BarracudaCast prop blades, spinner, and wheels, G-Factor gear legs, and EagleCals decals. Very enjoyable build.

Lostgain - Nice save on the paint. That came out really well!

Jay - Great build. I love the mottling work and the belts. They add a nice bit of relism.

lost: I really like the look of those tan 109's and your's is no exception to that. Nice clean build bud and thank you for being a part of this GB. Which one would you like on the wall of fame and I'll get it there.

Jay: You've done it again! Time after time you never disappoint with your outcome! Great work. Like with lostagain let me know which one you'd like to see on the intro and I'll post it up. I appreciate your participation in this GB pal.

freem: Another good finish hits the finish line!!! Thank you for your contribution to this GB as well.

adj: Looking good on the progress. I've got an Airfix Emil that I'll have to give a try!

Johnny: Man...two finishes!!!! And splendid ones at that!! There aint no way in hell I'd ever attempt two at once!! I'd go kukoo! Tell me which ones you'd like posted. Really enjoyed your participation here. Yes

ALL: I have to apologize for my lack of a build throughout this all. I set out to tackle something I'd never done before and that was to do two builds at once. I've seen alot of folks do it and figured I could too. Folks that just aint the case for this model builder. Something had to go to the wayside and unfortunately it was my aircraft build. In November of 2014 I got the automotive bug and fell head over heels for it. I never saw this coming in a million years. I've broken through the gloss coat fear barrier and feel fairly confident in that now. I also have to apologize for my lack of presence over the last month or so. My son was having ALOT of trouble in school and I had to pull back from hosting for a bit. I may resume GB's in the future but I think I'm going to lay low with them for the next half year so I can catch up with some other priorities that are now coming into view. I hate starting something I can't finish so I'll wait till I can devote the time needed to run another one. As far as what I've been up to build wise?

This has kept me busy for all of ten months now but finished it up a week or so ago:
