Well since now i am going to do QF 25Pdr as well as the truck, i went ahead and ordered the PE set for it, was only $10 shipped. In the mean time i've been working on the Ford Artillery Tractor to go with. Going to post a couple pictures, the tires didnt turn out the way i wanted, going to have to find a way to mask it better.
Currentely Building: 1/35 Ford Quad FAT + QF25,
In queue: 1/35 Hobby Boss VK1602, 1/400 HMS Illustrious, 1/700 HMS Broadsword
modelcrazy No worries Jay. As for my entries, I know how to take a picture to make them look good. Terry now (jibber), he's someone who intimidates me.
Ha! Says the guy who has how many models in a museum?!?!?
Welcome aboard Jay, looking forward to seeing some pictures of the QF-25!
Bruce
On the bench: 1/48 Eduard MiG-21MF
1/35 Takom Merkava Mk.I
Jay dont listen to him (LOL) its fun for everybody and BTW his builds are as good as anybodies on here. I'd like to think we have a nice grouping of kits here, glad to have you.
Terry
Steve
Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Jay: I like it! I've looked at that kit for years but somehow never got around to buying one. And I thought my gun was big until the guys brought in these giant railroad guns and SCUDs so don't feel intimidated!

Great, glad to have you aboard Jay. Don't let anyone's build intimidate you although I certainly know how you feel. I'll get you down on the roster, and just post progress pictures when you feel you’re ready. I will look of the kit and box art to put on the roster. I assume this is 1/35?
Yeah i think i would like to join, i just started the Tamiya Ford Quad + 25Pdr combo. Only thing ive done so far is the wheels on the truck since im just getting my "work" area all set up. Having looked at all the other builds on here, its a bit intimidating for a novice but ill do my best!
Hi Jay, and again welcome to the forums. Sorry about the posting delay problems, I just saw this post.
Yes, the QF-25 Pdr would work fine. Would you like to join in? Let me know my friend and any questions you have. We can get through this posting delay mess.
Terry, great looking dio!
Gam, the kit even has some PE.
Terry: Coming along great!
Steve: Pretty cool, I suspect she's long even in 1/144th, close to as long as the U-Boat even?
As a complete novice, would the QF-25 Pdr work for this?
An update on my diorama. The watchtower is in and I've trimmed out the base board. I'm working on figures and finishing up the main gun and that should be it. There should be 4-5 figures in different areas mostly guards and maintenance personnnel.
Well, what the heck. As long as I am going to build the K5 in the RRGB, I may as well build it for here as well. So here it is. Cute little thing with wee little people. I actually bought the kit for the figures to modify and join the Kriegsmarine U-boat force and sail on my 1/144 Type VII. The K5 kit is less expensive that purchasing figures believe it or not. Anyway I will be starting it on Tuesday.
speaking of artillery i just picked up the Trumpeter 9A52-2 SMERCH MRL. 930 parts. $85 USD less than the Meng version due out soon. between that and SA-8 plus stash i have plenty of soviet/russian warwheels.

No worries Wayne, the GB still has until April 15. You have been a busy man. Nice looking builds there. Is the Scud done?
Oops, I just need to read.
Pretty darn cool Wayne and congrads on your win!
i haven't been over here in quite a while. i've started the carraige for the K-5 but it's on hold until i get a good block of focus. the SCUD is ready to decal, wash and weather, and add a base. apologies if i already posted these pics. PS the LAV took a first in local contest 1/72 wheeled armor.
the atomic cannon is ready to prime. i will prime and paint in syb assys because there too many nooks and crannies to get into. looking like color modulation between the tracrors, carraige and gun
jibber Thanks G, I'm trying to work in a frog for you somewhere.....
Thanks G, I'm trying to work in a frog for you somewhere.....
LOL, well actually turtle but I apprecate the thought!!!
Yeah that looks awesome Terry, and I love all the extra details you're working in there.
Thats funny, I thought of adding a MC too. Steve I'm not sure how much time I'll have but I'm going to try and get one more in before time is up on this one. I've had an idea of rigging two German 88's on a flatbed railcar?
jibberSteve I know I took it a little far but what the heck, something for all of us to view and enjoy.
I had to stop myself from adding more and more. I had a motocycle I wanted to throw on but decided enough was enough LOL.This GB still has 5mos, I will probably throw in that 1/144 K5.
Guys thanks I'd like some nice photos for our GB when I'm done. Steve I know I took it a little far but what the heck, something for all of us to view and enjoy. It only happened because Steve started an artillery build and the Morser was questionable. I'm thankful we got ours in.
Terry,
The dio is looking great! All these little ares of interest are making the entire dio interesting! The barrels are fantastic! And I still can't get over how realistic those rocks look! Great job! Looking forward to seeing it complete
Ha Ha, I'm not sure the Germans were too worried about Hazmat LOL.
A definate HAZMAT callout...
I think these things are what makes it work. Like not just putting up a camo net, but you have figures holding it up. They keep your interest.
I like how this little area turned out, hopefully I'll have more to show later.
Thanks Steve.
