Ground Attack Group Build Pt II
Posted by modelcrazy on Saturday, April 18, 2015 4:53 PM

Since Matt is no longer around and a few of us has picked up the old build, it has become difficult to assist in a build that has no host. So because of that I am creating a new post so that finished pics and and rules can be updated.

So here we are.

Matt's original rules:

The rules are simple: Any Era, any Country, as long as it was an aircraft that provided ground support.

Any Fighter/bomber or even bomber. Any scale. The build will begin today, June 24, 2014 and last until June 24, 2015. If anyone has a problem with that date it can be extended with no worries just let me Know. Even rotors allowed!!!

A full year should give everyone plenty of time to enter plenty of high quality models.

Progress pics are a must

Cross overs are allowed but only SLIGHTLY started models will be accepted.

Enter as many kits as you like and most of all HAVE FUN!

ROSTER:

MATT - Revell 1:48 F4U-4 Corsair Done

ModelCrazy - REVELL MIL-24D Done  Votes for #3

Theuns - #1 AH64 Done
                 #2 1/48 Italeri Impala Mk2 (MB 326K)

Jugjunkie - 1/48 Hasegawa Ju 87 G2 Done  Votes for #1

68gt - Fujimi 1/72 Ju87s Done  Votes for #2

RobS - 1/72 Mi-24V Hind E Done  Votes for #3

fjs3 - 1:32 scale Hobby Boss, Il-2 "Sturmovik" Done

Nomad53 - F-105D T-Stick II Done  Votes for #1

VanceCrozier - 1/72 Sword Reggiane 2002 Ariete Done

Plasticjunkie - 1/72 Monogram F4J Done  Votes for #1

CodyJ - 1/72 A-37 Dragonfly

Lewdbud - B-25H/J Mitchell

ajd3530 - A-20G (gun nose)

......................................................................................................................................................................................

Since the GB has become a "Democracy", it will continue to be run as such.

If you were on the roster and did not start a build, I took you off, however, let me know and I'll add you again. If I missed anybody, again, let me know.
If anyone wants to jump in at the last, I'll put you down.

Thank you all for your participation, as I'm sure Matt would be pleased at the response.

This Build ends June 24 2015. NO EXCEPTIONS.

I will post again here.

Here is my completed old  Monogram 1/72 F-4J in VF-84 markings. Quite a very nice kit. No fit issues and the details were just amazing including  full cockpit and wheel wells details. Decals are from Vagabond. the stand is from Airfix.

Thanks Rob,

Do you think we need a new badge, or just keep the old one? Also, should we end the GB on June 24th

as the original rules state, or do you think we should extend it a few months?

Hey Steve, IMO, I'd keep the badge and also put 'er to bed in June. BTW, that Boeing Build badge is wicked!! Gonna fit my 707 build perfectly.

Steve

IMO a new badge will be welcomed as the current one is a bit plain.

I tend to agree That the badge is a little plain. I will see what I can do. I also agree with Rob a I think we should put the build to bed in June.

There are plenty of other things going on and I feel we have served Matt properly by carrying on to finish his GB.

June 24 end date it is.

I see what I can do regarding a spunkier badge. I hate to ask Cody again as he has done so much for me, but I'll see if I can pull one more favor. His badges are just soooo... cool.

Thanks Guys!  I tried to gear the badges to what you guys were building.  I think A10 is the only one no one is making... but talk about a ground based aircraft!  Lol

Thanks Steve but as far as voting, I will leave that up to the guys who have been here earlier. :)

Are the votes for the next GB or are you thinking of changing the current builds badge?

On Ed's bench, ???

The votes are for the current build, Matts old build. I'm going to offer Matt's original and the new badge. I'm not going to start a new Ground Attack build.  I'm way too busy.
