Great work everyone.  Had a blast as usual.  Thanks again for hosting.  I look forward to this one every year!  I will try to ensure that I have more time next year to participate in more than one weekend.

See you all next year!

Way to go Greg!  You got her done, that's all that matters.  Which pic would you like for the Hall of Fame?  Gentlemen, with the completion of Greg's build, I declare the Weekend Group Build of 2016 closed.  It has been an honor hosting this build.  Thank you all, and see you next year!

I'm calling it completed.  I'll probably be replacing the front axle as it was bent in the process of putting n the second wheel.  I'll aslo replace the clear window part as I tried a product called "NITE-SHADE" from VHT and it didn't turn out as I hoped. The Cleveland PD decals are from Pursuit Plastics and the POLICE decals are from Chimneyville. It's definitely not my best work but for a 48-hr build, it's tolerable.

I'm starting the 1997 Ford CVPI.  I'm REALLY hating PhotoBucket now - it used to never be this difficult to get pics uploaded. I spent (wasted) the past 90min uploading one pic. Bang HeadAngry

Great effort on these builds guys. Getting a car done in a weekend is outstanding. The aircraft and Cromwell are really good too.

Dave - it's good to see you back on here, I haven't seen you for a while.

Cheers

The Gromwell like great Razor!  Congratulations! Which pic would you like for the Wall of Fame?  For me, the Bearcat didn't make it.  There were no construction problems, just paint problems.  I'll used to working with flats, I forgot that gloss paints take a loooooong time to dry.  It took  eight hours for the top of the wings to be dry to the touch.  Shot the secondcoat for the top of the wings about 2:30 and that's where was until about 10:45 when I was finally able to flip her over and start on the bottom.  Had to throw the gear doors in the purple lake.  Should have her done by the end of the week.  Unless anyone has any objections, next weekend will be the last weekend.

Thought I'd do an update since I'm past the halfway point.  With twenty-one hours to go, I have something that looks like an airplane.  I'd love to say that I've been slaving away for the past twenty-seven hours, by I haven't.  I've gone to the local shop to pickup supplies, came home worked a bit, watched a movie while paint dried, wrapped presents for my club's Christmas gift exchange, went to the party, came home took a brief nap, and got to the point I'm at now. The list of Saturday's events is why I chose this kit, I knew I could lose 4-6 hours and still have a good shot at finishing in time. Now for some pics.

The cockpit is installed.

We now have something that looks like an airplane.  There's a nasty seam under all that putty. I'm hoping that when I wake up, it will be ready to sand.

First color shot.  Wheels and landing gear are now glossy Sea Blue.  The color for the wings will be yellow.  I know the gear was usually painted the same as the underside, but I want something to break up all that yellow.

That's all for now, see y'all in the morning

Uploaded some better photos from last night and a photo from this morning after applying a wash.  Used oil based paints for the wash.  hope it dries in time.

Nice vintage kit lewud.  Yes

Despite a little more running around today than I expected I still got lots done.  A little after midnight here and I have most of it assembled and painted.  Just the link and length track and fenders to go and then decals and weathering.  Here's a quick phone camera shot of where I am at.  Colors are way off from the fluorescent lighting.

Looking good Razor, keep it up!  Got a rather late start on mine.  Picked the venerable Monogram  1/72 F8F Bearcat.  Markings will be of an aircraft stationed at Naval Ordinance Test Station Inyokern (China Lake) CA in 1950.  This aircraft was used in testing the 5 inch HVAR rocket.  Paint scheme will be overall glossy Sea Blue with Chrome Yellow wings with glossy Sea Blue ailerons and tips.  Markings by Starfighter Decals. Will post pics when pic worthy.

I'm off work today so decided to get an early start.

Discovered the upper hull had a slight warp so taking a little break until the glue sets.  This is about 10:30

Thanks lewbud.  I will likely fire it up this weekend with a 1/72 Revell Cromwell MK. IV.  Haven't done a speed build for awhile so want to keep it simple.  I will probably start late friday night.

Hall of Fame is updated gents.  Razor, welcome back to the forums.  I'm planning another shot this weekend.  Tony, go for it. Razor, if you want in, there's only a couple of weekends left.

I haven't been on this forum for a long awhile but some of you might remember me.  Can't remember my login so opened a new account.  Used to be razordws.

Calling it done.  A few hours to spare even.  Definately had enough of this kit.  Too many problems to list but glad it is finished.  I will post a better pic tomorrow when I have better light.   I wonder what ever happend to that police car?

Until tomorrow.......
