Thanks Brandon, and Bish... Yeah, we'll try to close it up and possibly manage to keep the seam, but what a deal. Guess thats just part of our hobby. Any way, Glue set good, no cracking when pressure released, so I'm happy...

Got the gap closed, I'll recut seam when I start that process in a bit.

Gear doors on...And thats where we are now. More later! Thanks

Doug

The Tiffy is looking good, Doug. And that tape, man you mean business when it comes to hold. The gap doesn't stand a chance.

Morning all!   Bossman... Options GOOD! Lol... Well, heres where I am at the moment.

Fuse halves joined, so far so good, Clean, fit well, no serious offsets...

OK... Issue, Got the wings ready and fit... This, I didn't expect. Yes, maybe from a lesser kit, but not a Hasagawa. We'll make it work, but ...

OK, a little pressure to set and hold the dihedral, While the glue sets. I want this to set firm before moving on. Although its not much pressure to hold, I have had them crack after paint, and having to redo at that stage can be a pain in the ***... More later.

Bish
I take it those holes in the front of the wing are to allow to differant variants.

One set of holes is for the landing lights - but yes - the others are for variants of armament.  And Man ! - did this kit come with parts for variants !

Here are the optional parts that I will use . . .

And here are the all the variant parts that will go to the spare parts box . . .

A second prop and spinner

A short nose

two different tropical air filters for the short and long noses

A second (lower profile) oil cooler

A second set of exhaust tubes

A second tail wheel

And two more sets of wing leading edges for different types of armament.  No cannons for the cannon bases though.

They've got a lot of the metal winged Mk. I and Mk. II variants covered.

Nice to have all these choices in one kit.  Maybe I'll assemble the second nose with a tropical filter just  . . .   well . . .   I dont really know why.

LOLOL... Thats great to hear Greg! Can't wait to see the Bristol!  Hope the illness isn't too serious, and that recovery is coming along nicely! Around here its mainly just allergies. Spring time in the South and all that. Doesn't bother me too much, but when it does, I know that others are in rough shape. Take care! Doug

Thanks Chris.

I know what you mean. You spend loads of time on the pit and it does not seem to get very very, and then before you  know it you have an airplane. Thats looking nice. I take it those hoiles in the front of the wing are to allow to differant variants.

Well Doug 'ol buddy 'ol pal, I seem to have a Bristol Beaufighter nudging at me. Due to an illness in the house I really need to get a vented booth set up before I do much else, but I'm about to jump in if the Beaufighter fits. I think Bish preapproved it on the feeler?

Will be a pleasure to have you on board Greg. But deffo got to get that spray booth set up.

Hi guys,

Nice work Bish - the Canberra's finish looks very nice.

And nice start on the Typhoon Doug.  I think of the Typhoon as the "Muscle Car" of the aircraft world.  It has that rather  bulky-but-go-fast  appearance.

So this is the point of the build where one looks like they are accomplishing a lot more than they really are.  All the interior work was done - and then BOOM ! - I've got an assembled airframe just by clipping, trimming, and gluing a few parts.

Onward !

Greg

What happened to that nose piece, Bish?

Good stuff going on in this here GB, some real nice work.

I think i must have sparyaed the paint to thick on that piece so it lifted up when i removed the mask. I used the same mask as the rest of the aircraft and applied at the same time, so can only be down to my application.

And thanks for following along.

About the desert Typhoon,  it was sent there for trials, but never saw actual combat (although it was suppose to eventually).

451 is an Australian squadron, though it was under the umbrella of 219 Group RAF.

Off to a good star Doug. I notice quite a few kits with that cockpit framing that seems common in Hawker aircraft, looks god. I didn't realise these were used in Africa, i think most people associate them with Normandy. This will make a nice change and will look good in that scheme.

And thanks, our fly boys get enough ribbing, but they are a good bunch really.

Thanks BK. I used white tac for ye nose as i did the rest. But after a bit of polishing and a re spray, it looks fine now. Decals are a pain though. Just spent about half an hour and still have not finished the front on one side. This is going to be a long job.

Morning all! I've finally caught up with a few prior commitments, and can FINALLY start my offering here. First... There is some serious stuff going on here, Love it! This is a great topic for a GB and Thank you Bish for making it happen!...My first attempt will be the Hasagawa Mk. IB Typhoon, one of my favorite piston driven aircraft of all time. To me it just looks Viscious sitting still. Any way, I also like Tropical coloring so I found one of the 451st squadron, North Africa circa 1943. Hope I do them proud!

Picked this up at a swap meet recently at a fair price...Couldn't wait to build it.

If my colors are off at this point I apologize... I was looking at color photos from the period for the campaign theater, but they may have been colorized. I know from the books I have that mose ETO examples were a green color.

Just trying the fit here. Usually very little issue with Hasagawas. Thats about all for now... More in a bit...

That looks nice, Bish. That nose cone though, yikes. Paint or masking those curves is my most challenging area. You'll nail it though, I know that for sure.
