Theuns:  I see.  I bought some from Hannant's a few years ago, before paint was prohibited on airplanes.  I have yet to try them, but they have some colo(u)rs nobody else seemed to have.

That chassis does look fiddly.  Nice work putting it together.

Good looking paint finish, too.  Wish we could get Xtra colour over here in the states.

Here is the basic chassis in primer, Nice detail but quite fiddly to build.

Only a few seams to fill then its off to paint.

Nice work, Ed.  Reminds me of a few snow storms I've been in.

I'll have to check out Michael's next time I'm near one.  These markers would come in handy at times.  Thanks.

I've seen both but I've been using the oil ones by Sharpie. Michael's didn't have any in the color or size I was looking for though. Maybe this weekend I can get out and find some.

Maybe you mentioned it and I missed it, Ed, but are these loaded with acrylic paint--or some other type?

Thanks! I'll have to try another Michal's or maybe a Hobby Lobby. The one I stopped at on the way home was low on stock on many things but Christmas. Including most of the extra fine paint pens in all colors.

Looks very consistent with the fuselage.  Really sharp camouflage.

Wow, I cant believe it's been over 2 weeks already. I sat down and got working on the upper surfaces of the wings & stabilizers and my paint pen ran out. I'll have to remember to pick a new one up on the way home from work tomorrow.

Sounds reasonable; and if there aren't any photos in existence, who's going to know for sure?

Thanks, I'm tempted to continue the camo on the wings also. I cant see this being done to the fuselage and the wings being left as is or being totally white washed. You never know though since I've seen some pretty unconventional Luftwaffe field camo.

That is fantastic!  What a great job you did applying the white camouflage.  Remarkable!  Congratulations!  That is truly eye-catching!

So I had some me time where all the problems of life disappeared for a while and the only thoughts were camo. It's not exactly like the artwork on the decal sheet I figured that they had their artistic freedom then so can I. I haven't been able to pull up any photos of the aircraft so now I'm stumped as to what the upper surfaces of the wings and the horizontal stabilizers looked like.

By the way I used a white extra fine Sharpie Paint pen for the camo.

What brand of paint did you use?  I've always used MM's Luftwaffe colors.  With Testors out of the picture,

I'm still working with some MM enamel that I have.  Not sure what I'm going to do when I cant find any more.

Looks good, Ed.  Nice complimenting colors.  What brand of paint did you use?  I've always used MM's Luftwaffe colors.  With Testors out of the picture, I'll probably move toward Humbrol or Colorcoats (if the stuff resumes shipping to the US).

Well, I never would have guessed it wasn't a cat's arm!  Now that I know what it is, I can see the "towel-ishness."

Beautiful P-39, tj.  Excellent construction, finish and markings!

Which photo do you like for the finish-page?

Thanks for taking part in the GB.  It's been great to see your work.

Between Friday and today I got a base coat down on the 87D. I didn't get all anal with getting the splinter perfect cause I figured most of it will be covered anyways when I start the winter camo.

Actually that's a towel hanging below my bench. But I do have a few assistants on occasion

Turned out excellent, tj!  Looks great!  It's a paint scheme I don't think I've seen.

Does that cat's paw belong to your assistant?
