I have primed the F-9 and will try to get dome paint on be the weekend. On this trumpeter kit the rivet detail is rather heavy but hopefully under the gloss paint it will be better.

BTW, don't worry about the Badger, it'll end up in the next Shelf of Doom GB. I do want to finish it one day.

Ye, i know what you mean. I have taken to useing tweezers to get at the good stuff lower down.

I use so little at a time that it becomes an issue. Pitty it is so expensive to loose more than 75% of a tube :-(

I have used PPP before and almost nothing works better. However I have found that mine becomes dry in the tube neck no matter how much care I take to seal it well :-(

Thank you for the help, I ordered some PPP and Mr Disolved putty and will try those out when they arive.

What I do sometimes on wing fillets is to mask off either side of the area needing filling. Maybe a mm max then aply tamiya uutty and immidiately wipe off the excess with an earbud dipped in meth spitirs to form a nice round fillet, sometimes no after sanding is even needed.

Blimey, like Steve, i don't think i have anything to complain about with out post office.

Reading what you said, that would explain why the part i ordered from S Africa last year took so long to get here. Hope your decals make it safe and sound.

Dutch, wing roots can be a pain, especially if there is much detail arouind the area. I have only had to deal with fairly small gaps which i fill with filler, i now use Perfect Plastic Putty. I normally use an old scalpel blade, preferably one that still has its point, so i can get it just into the gap.

Steve, pity about the badger, but hope to see it back at some point.

Theuns, nice work on the Panther, the pit came out well. Nice fix on that gap.

Some guys here that order parcles from overseas are saying that after 6 months they still get nothing, even though the tracking system shows that it was delivered to SA a week at most from send date. Pitty is that like with most things here the state run institutions (medical, security, schooling ,univercity) we will have to go private run, hassle it that only 16% of the population can afford it, like hospital ect.....I am not one of the 16% :-(

The post office has taken over the payment to a few million people of social grants because the agency that was supose to do so is so corrupt that the courts stoped them doing so. Low and behold this past week people didnt get their grants, the post office had to go hand out food parcles to try make up for the "inconvienience"

My fokls are also on that grant system so I know how badly the running of even the most basic of services have gone to naught , really sad.

So we take our chances here and hope for the best. 

Maybe I will be lucky and my decals do not get trashed.  Well they are in the system already, before the strike started so I cant do anything about that anyway but wait and see.

And I complain about our Postal Service because I get a package a day or two later than they said. I have nothing to complain about.

I am waiting for my decals to arive and now I hear that the post office is on strike - again. So as per usual they will chuck all the parcles and post in the street. I hope my decals will come through before the go this route.

Here in SA the entire postal service is a hitt and miss affair, sometines you get mail, sometimes not.

BTW Theuns and Bish, The Badger is not working out like I wanted. The seams are being dificult, the paint isn't my best and I lost intrestet in it. I think I'll put it aside and pick the Nell back up. I have renewed intrest in it because of the Prince Of Wales build I'm formulating in my wee little head. The Nell and a Betty would make intresting stable mates if you will, with the POW.

The Badger will likely show up on the next shelf of doom build once I get back into it.

SD, depending on the width of the gap you can do several things. For big gaps some members will fill the area with streached sprue and glue it in with plastic glue or CA. Thinner gaps can be filled with putty. There are several types avaliable. I like Perfect Plastic Putty however it is water based and very easy to remove with water, but you can remove too much this way. Another product I use a lot is Mr Surfacer 500 or Mr Disolved Putty. Both are liquid of sorts and can be sanded or removed with Denatured Alcohol. I like to wet sand the seam with the alcohol and something like 1000 grit sandpaper. 

I have hit a bit of a snag, this is my first aircraft and I can not figure out how to fill the wing roots. Does anyone have any tips? Any help would be much appreciated.

The fit of the nose section is not great, it is to narrow for the fuselage so I had to cut it open and insert a filler piece.
