I have the Lion Roar set to go with my Bismarck, but that will be a couple of years before i build that. I'd like to get a Scharnhorst as well, i'm thinking either the 40 or 41 kit. I look forward to seeing the Destroyer and Spee, i would like to add one of the Z ships to my collection.

Cracking job BB! You're really starting to look like a ship builder now, and just after 3 ships Yes Before long, half of you ship will be after market items.

Thanks guys. The KGV is coming along quite nicely and I am enjoying the kit. Other than a few mishaps with PE parts, she is turning out quite well.

Steve, as tehre is no end date as long as we have signed up before the 2 years is up, could you put me down for another modern British sub. Its the Bronco 350 HMS Vanguard SSBN. I am planning on doing it next year and it should be a nice little quickie build.

Well, I finally started on the KGV

I drilled out the port holes, however,  I did not attempt to verify their accuracy:

A bit of Photo Etch to spruce her up:

Pontos wood deck:

Brass main and secondary guns:

And the plans to build her in her 1945 fit:

Hopefully, I'll get some done this weekend.

Rob that Compass Rose is a real head turner. Like the wood deck on there and the detail on the lifeboat.

Bruce! I'm right behind you with a KGV. Will enjoy this and steal shamelessly as I gather build tips from you Angel

If either of you guys want to bin the kits Pom Poms, take a look here. Not a bad price and lot of cool stuff to spend the paycheck on. Shipping time isn't bad either, especially from France.

ha, You know they just went on their European vacation! Not back till the end of August. Good thing I don't need it right away. Might be a money saver for me though, no temptation to buy it. I'll just focus on out of box Beer

Chris, sounds good, but, this is my first ship build since I was a kid. I think we'll be trading build tips with each other as we go along.

Here’s my obligatory sprues pictures. I’m going to be a very busy boy trying to finish all these models.

This is really fine modeling. I mean that sincerely.

I finished my Midway for the American Flag GB and now and going to put "Rose" on the bench.

Mine is the one before she was refitted with the longer forecastle accomodaion and radar.

Thank you Steve for your comments. Now finishing up. The build is complete, awaiting some hull markings and a silk flag. Will then lightly weather.

Weathering done of the Compass Rose, with weathering powders and a limited amount of oil paints. Still awaiting hull numbers and a plaque. Included is a copy of "The Cruel Sea" the wonderful book that inspired me to build this model.

That looks excellent Rob, do you want me to wait for the numbers to put up the pic?

Love the background.
