BrandonK

John, that is a stunning build. I really like the look. It's beautiful.

Bish, the dish can be taken on and off. Thank goodness because this plane is a huge PITA to paint. Too many hard to reach areas and spraying at weird angles and tight quarters makes for a tough job. Given the issues I began with though, its coming along nicely. Thanks for looking.

Thats handy, i was thinking it might be a bit tricky.

Rambo and Modelcrazy, great job on the finish. I know you both had some issues, but you’ve overcome them to have great results!

I just got back from a trip, and was able to do some detail painting in the F-6B tonight. I’ve got some more planned for tomorrow and should be able to post some pictures.

Great finishes guys!

Steve, I love how the whitewash came out.  Looks great on that plane.  I've always thought it was strange looking, but I think the winter camo suits it perfectly.

Clint your dio is great!  Love the camo net draped over the plane and the engine exposed.  The photo at the end gives it the whole thing the right feel.

Thanks for participating guys!

Steve, well done. That is a very convincing look. I really like the winter scheme all worn and battered. Noice!!

Clint, your dio is very nice and the whole thing is very well done and life like. I really like the B&W pic at the end showing the guy in the chair checking FB on his Iphone. LOL

The Storch is done. I have to say it was a fun build up to painting then I had trouble with the lifecolors paint I was using. After that I just wanted it finished. Anyway here is some photos. Bob pick whatever photo you want for the front page.

Ooooo, I like that Hawkeye BK.

OK, the BV-141 is done. It's not a bad little kit although the plastic is thick with little detail except for the rivets. The seams were a pleasent surprize. Like I said earler the decals were falling apart and didn't take to Micro Set so I went with a whitewash camo as plan B. The canopy is hand painted.

Bob, use whichever pic you want.

Well, I finally managed to find time to get the primer down. I didn't notice any real issues aside from this being a complete PITA to paint with all the different angles needed to reach everywhere. I'll have to paint this more slowly so I don't screw it up.

Thanks Bob, that's one of the reasons I went with the whitewash. it helps cover crappy decals. I'm almost done, Just some exhaust stains, hand paint the greenhouse and attach the gear.

Castel, you're more than welcome to build another!  I have you updated on the front page.

That's too bad about the decals Steve, when they are terrible it can really sap the enjoyment out of a build.  On the plus side, I can't wait to see your whitewash.  That always looks cool!

Thank you Mongoos and Clint.

A little more work on the BV today. I sprayed some hairspray prior to the white. Tomorrow I'll start the wearing process.

The decals are terrible. They were falling apart and the silvering is dificult to fix.

An update to the BV. I completed the camo and need to paint the canopy and am going to add a winter camo white wash.

Nothing better than a winter theme. Can't wait to see how you do it.

In the pattern: Scale Shipyard's 1/48 Balao Class Sub! leaning out the list...NOT! Ha, added to it again - Viper MkVii, 1/32 THUD & F-15J plus a weekend madness build!

Nice work guys.

Clint, i'm not a fan of tamiya aircraft decals either. On both my previous builds they have fallen apart.
