Well, I think my Santa delivered today.  My daughter brought in the mail and announced that ”Daddy got another model“. This resulted in a sharp look from my wife.  I told her I didn’t have anything on order.  Shes heard that one before.....

My wife took the liberty of wrapping it up before my prying eyes could get a look.  So to my Santa, Thanks!

i have my gift ready to ship out.  Should be in the mail Friday.

I explained the workings of the GB to my lady, and warned her a box will be coming sometime in the near future.  Kind of got the same look and it said...yeah, right.

At least no younguns to blow the whistle.

Yeah!  We could have a whole forum page dedicated to excuses to get kits past the marital gatekeeper

My best and only trick really, was to track the package and when I got a notification that it was delivered, I took off early (I could do that at my job at the time) to intercept before the all knowing gatekeeper came home. That only worked on occasion. The times it did work, I planed my purchases to deliver during the week. My luck was, due to some delay, they were delivered on Saturday.

Even if I snuck it by her, she could and can still spot in my stash no mater how deep I burry it. I think she has it memorized, her own versoin of Scalemates.

I found it's just best to be upfront. I told her to expect 2 gifts from forum members because of the GB and let me know as soon as they arrive. Her response was "I'll be looking for them"

I'll post when she tells me when they arrive. I'll be home from the 23rd through the 31st. I'll bring them back to Dallas with me to start on them immediately on New Years day. Stick out tongue

I don't even bother to try an pull a fast one on my gatekeeper. I simply tell her it's time for her to buy something nice for herself. She knows this to be code for "I bought another kit to add to the dozens I already have." But, I've put myself on a diet of sorts and I won't let myself by anymore kits until I widdle these others down by at least half first. It's tough but I am coping.

To my giftee, you don't know who you are yet, but you will. I'm a little behind mailing. Army Reserve stuff has had me busy the last week since I got the address but I'm home and will get your box of goodness out asap. ;)

Carry on

I get home and there on the porch are multiple boxes.  No surprise...I'm an Amazon junkie and knew I had some coming in today...but there, amonst the Amazon boxes was a mystery box!  I opened it and there it was..a present from Santa!!!  And I must say, I teared up.  That is the nicest wrapped gift I have ever gotten!  I don't get gifts wrapped that nicely from family!!!  So Santa...THANK YOU!!!  I don't bloody care what model it is..IT'S A MODEL!!  LOL!  yeah, I'm a bit excited.  I don't get models for Christmas anymore like I did when I was younger, so this is making my day/Christmas!

Thanks Santa!

Mongoose, I got a notification that your gift arrived. It's not wrapped so don't open it if you want to see it on Christmas, or do like I do and have the wife open it and wrap it for you Big Smile

To my Secret Santa; I'm having my wife check the door every day, but there is so many things coming in that she may missread the one from you and just put it in the hobby room and not know. I quiz her every night and hopefully she'll be able to tell. If not I'll be home on Christmas eve and look through what we received. I will have a lot of wrapping to do when I get there.

Will keep an eye out for it.  Mine shipped from vendor so don't know if wrapped or not.  Probably not.

The procasticating elf almost has the last one done.  A couple of more decals and dull coat.  I'll make it with time to spare.  Just hoping my prior Santa isn't too disappointed in me for taking this long.  Will post up a pic when finally done, maybe it will spur on our current folks to be eager beavers

Huhh, that's intresting. Maybe something's broken. Confused

I reread my last post and it was confusing. I meant that I received a notice that the gift that Santa sent YOU, had arrived. I couldn't understand why I was receiving such a notification. Wink

I also received word that the another package to somebody was delivered, again, I don't know why I keep getting these mysterious emails. Huh?

I hope everyone receives something that is both unexpected and most enjoyable.

My wife sent me two pictures of a USPS package today. One picture had the word Santa which looked like it was on the corner of the box. She's putting it under the tree for me.

Well I thought I was doing the right thing by sending my gift from the UPS store...tracking number and all...but the bloody thing just says the shipping label has been printed.  I shipped it about a week ago!  I'm hoping to go by the store today and find out what is going on.  Hopefully the person I sent it to will just post they received it and the PO was just....well, the PO.  LOL!

The good news Bobby is that if it's lost, you should be able to claim insurance. I believe there's a substacial base insurance for packages.

I have several gifts being sent to my home in Boise and one box of three items were sent from Bets Buy and the same thing happend. Best Buy replaced the shipment and that one has arrived.

I'm hoping it's the usual PO not updating their site, but you never know.  Forgot today is Sunday.  Don't think the UPS store is open today.  Will check tomorrow if the site doesn't update tonight.

I knew as soon as I started posting about it, it would start to work out.  LOL!

Getting text updates now......it flew out of Miami yesterday!  So I'm confident they will get it before Christmas.  Big Smile

I'm super happy about that, both for you and your giftee. A lost package is a PIA.
