You guys are producing awesome work.

You've got all year on this one. We prefer everyone be done by the time Xmas shows up, but by the end of the year would count.

I've been working slowly on the Blenheim due to some other builds that moved ahead for everything. With being said I was able to work on the seams left over from the canopy/nose attachment. I need to attach the masks and get on the painting. No..the GBU 12 Paveway II's are not for the Blenheim although they would really have come in handy.

modelcrazy i see what you mean about the mask kit. Dang when it’s all assembled the glass looks intimidating!

That is really coming along nicely, Steve. I can't see any issues now. I don't mind so much working with greenhouse canopies, but I have a real hard time getting the frames to come out even. Painting those is one of the most difficult things I deal with.

Got started on the Buffalo - will be a nice addition to my fledgling RAF collection (Currently 1 spitfire).  Old kit, but nice Tamiya details.  Not terribly focused on the pit since she will be closed up and I may add the pilot.  Anyhow, got her buttoned up tonight

And here's the pilot - Tamiya was great about providing figures back in the day

Thanks,

John

John that pilot does look good. Gotta wonder what the designer was thinking though...pilot - “look ma no hands”!

doesn’t look like Tamiya did you any favors on the seems though? Do they look like they’ll clean up easy?

Coming along nicely there, John. I have this same kit in my stash so I am super curious how this one works out. Definately enjoying the show.

Thanks all.  The hands are a bit funky.  Particularly around the neck where there is material bridging hands and neck that is not right.

The fit is excellent.  What looks like bad seams is actually the black basing on the interior overspray.  It's a nice little kit.

Thanks,

John

Eagle, I'm in the same boat. I have the bench full of E-2C, so adding another kit just makes building more challenging and I don't need that. We have all year, so we can take our time and do these sweet kits justice.

I am kind of in the same boat too.  My company has given me some incentive to get my PMP certification so most evenings are spent studying for my exam at the end of February.  However, I will absolutely be dedicating a couple hours each weekend to my Christmas build!

Wow.  You guys are making a lot of progress!

Having to tackle two kits for the GB has been a strain on workspace, as I also have the big Tamiya 1/32 Corsair and Mustang on the bench at the moment.  I was able to get the Hellcat almost to the painting stage.  It's a really easy build and doesn't offer any issues to deal with.

I also am close to assembly on the Me-109.  I've been working the Brassin gun bay, cockpit and radio sets.  So far so good.  I should be able to be at a point where I'm good sharing pics.

Nice job on the Buffalo John. looking forward to your painting.

Here is my update for the Blenheim. After fixing the nose mess-up and masking, I black based and added the tan base color. I plan on adding the green tomorrow.

modelcrazy that Blenheim is looking sharp. Gun turret in the background loooks pretty clean to. That's alotta glass to keep the overspray off of. Really nice.

Wow, Steve. Adding the color to the plane really changes its appearance. The nose looks great. I totally can't tell that it was all those pieces and now it looks like it was molded as one piece for the whole of the AC, well done. Nice work.

Steve, that camo looks fantastic. The preshading is just right, but I have to ask. What is up with the black band in the middle? Stripes?

Not really sure BK. The instructions have that black wrapping around the middle. I guess the Brits were more concerned about not being seen at night than on the ground in the day.

How odd. Maybe they had to change the fuselage insignia and ID numbers and that is how they covered up the old stuff. I don't know, I can't say I've ever seen that before.

I'm done with my first build for this GB. Other than the nose issues, the kit went together great! The new Airfix decals are so nice and easy to work with.

Thank you Mongoose.

Thats Purdy !! Now that you have the decals on the band in the middle just seems to blend in and not stand out. It looks fantastic!! That is a true gem. Well done, Steve. Which pic do you want on the front page?
