1/87 Trident 250/9 build. A little help from some small friends on the small parts. These go together pretty quick. I won't bore y'all w/the other 20+ 250s unless y'all are interested.

1/2 way point.

Assy complete.

Good advice from a veteran armour builder!

Thanks, Bish.

Glamdring

Ok, first off is the apologies for not posting sooner or following GB like I should have.  I don't have WIP shots of this LVT as it was shunted to the back of the work bench for more than 6 months.  Here are pictures with construction, painting, and decaling done though:

I just have to do some weathering, but that was what led to the readblock to begin with!  I have no idea what to do with this blue/gray base color, I'm think a gray was with some light rust streaks, then finished off with a light gray dry brushing.

If anyone has suggestions, I'm open!

Nice looking build. On my Pz Grey builds, i start with a slightly lighter grey dry brushing, i always do that first. Thats folowed with dot filters useing light grey's and white followed by dust.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

That's all coming together really well, Paul.  Good staging area for the action.  Has a nice destructed look to it.

Thanks for posting, Kostantin.  Nice collection of research materials there.  It's an impressive looking plane.

It's a very good looking build, Robert.  Nice paintwork.  As for weathering, I'm not so hot at it, so I don't do it much.

But maybe a dark pinwash in the recesses, possibly some lightened variation of the high spots would be a place to start.

There are some very good armor builders here, and maybe they'll have some more useful suggestions.

Good job!

Finished/added burntout building. Buildings in background are from an older dio. Gardening & rubble to go, then I can place vehicles. C&Cs welcomed. PaulE

Time to hop in the time machine and join you in 1944.

The subject will be Italeri's IL-2 Shturmovik in 1:48 (A/M repack).

This will be my first IL-2 built ever.

Kit contents:

AM/Italeri have correctly reproduced a swept wing machine (called 'The Arrow' by the Soviets), with wooden rear fuselage and metal wings

A PE set from Eduard will also be used

as well as the following reference material

First job was to wash the sprues and let them dry, while studying Jason Moore's book (seems an excellent read).

Best regards and a happy 1944 GB

Excellent work, Paul.  You captured the "burned-out" look exceptionally well.  It looks very realistic.  Good job!

You've jogged my memory, minitanker.  Now I recall the ROCO tanks, and I think I even have some Preiser pilots waiting around for paint somewhere.

Butcher shop completed. Pola model w/added doors, furniture, plumbing, radiators, rubble & ashes.

Bakery, modified Pola model done previously and hardscape added.

Modified Pola theater added. Has taken me this long, three models, to finger out photo loading w/GDs' help. Next will be destoyed building in vacant spot.

I'll be glad to put your selection up on the front page once you decide.  In the meantime, I'll put you up with a "TBD."

Welcome to the GB!

Thanks for all of the replies.  I was emailing to somewhere, but the only one anyone saw was the one I put in this forum on fs website.   I'm sure I screwed up.

Thank you. Meant to say 2nd Panzer. Artmaster, ArsenalM, Alsacast, Hauler, Herpa, Preiser, ROCO, Trident, Wespe, WSW, to name a few. Was much more common in the 60s thru 90s as a wargaming scale. Still has a following in the US & Germany as a modeling scale. The plan is a basic rectangle w/2 parallel streets w/buildings in between. The stab & HW zugs are halted being passed by 1st & 2nd zugs looking to force an exit from the town. PaulE

minitanker:  welcome to the GB!  Glad to have you participate.  That should make a great diorama.  Who makes 1/87 models?  I know it's HO railroad scale, but kind of uncommon elsewhere.

I'd like to participate with a 1/87 scale dio of a 12th Panzer "C" Type light armored recon company trying to make it's way to Normandy. A good way to represent most varients of sdkfz250, one of my favorites. PaulE

Thanks, checkmate, that's Vallejo Model Air, 71.016 (FS34088, U.S. Olive Drab). Went on really smooth using my old Paasche H single-action airbrush.

That looks to be a flawless paint coat, AA--very smooth; and the green color is quite appealing.  Good job!

I have some progress to report on the mustang.  It's nothing earth shattering but its progress.

On Ed's bench, ???

Great looking ship, Scott.  And all the aircraft on deck make her look ready to go!

Do you have a preference for the finish-photo?

Thanks for being part of the GB.  I always appreciate seeing your nautical work.
