Thanks GreySnake!

Theuns,

I'm calling this one done.  Here's the pics.

I like the fourth pic for the front page.  Thanks for hosting this build.  Now to see if I can get my Spit finished in time for your IDF build.

Theuns,

Thanks.  I bet he had some interesting stories. Transitioning from a Mustang to a C-130, that's a story I'd like to hear.  Here's a pic of 361 in action.

Here's where I'm at.  Just about finished.  Just got to finish painting and hang the ordnance.

Should be done tomorrow.

Love that Hostess truck. Used to have a Hostess bakery here in East Brunswick, New Jersey for years until it closed about 20 years ago or so. I miss that smell!

On Ed's bench, ???

This here was a present for father. He worked for Hostess Bakery for a long time. Although he wasn't a delivery driver, he worked in the factory and enjoyed every minute of his job. He was a hard working man. I gave this to him as a retirement gift.

Thanks GreySnake!

Here's today's update.  Just about done with the decals, and I'm running out of things to paint.  Here's the pics.

Decals and painting should be done by bed time.  More soon.

Mach71,

Thanks.  I used Tamiya's Matte Black for the base coat and Tamiya's Gloss Aluminum for the bare metal.  Both are out of the spray can.  I almost cried when I was shooting the black for the underside because I inadvertently grabbed my can of gloss black by mistake and laid down a perfect coat of paint.  No runs, drips, or errors and with a little buffing would have looked outstanding if I was building a car.  I reluctantly grabbed my can of matte black and covered it over.  Here's where she was when I went to bed last night.

I wen back and got caught up on the builds here and there is a lot of good stuff here.  Hope everyone is doing okay.  More soon.

Looking good lewbud! I always forget how small 1/72 prop fighters are.

Started this on 7/29.  Kit is the 1/72 Tamiya P-51D (ordnance stolen from the F-51D kit).  Markings from AIMS Decals represents a F-51D from 2 Sqn SAAF based at Chinhae (K10) in 1952 that was attached to the 18th FBG USAF.

The pit is finished.

I now have something that looks like an airplane.

More soon.

Here in Pennsylvania, our governor has put us into the 'green phase' which undo very similar to your level 3, 50 percent capacities, masks 'must' be worn, etc.  Due to the "spikes in numbers of positive cases", he has made masks mandatory in all public spaces.  And our country is as divided as I've ever seen it, as apparently, only the vacationers, and those going to bars and salons/barbershops can get the virus, but protesters are immune....

The media continues to talk about the "spike in cases" but does not discuss what that actually means, or any rationale behind it.  Example: my wife works for a large healthcare system (multiple hospitals owned by the same group) and among the three hospitals that she is directly associated with, they have a total....TOTAL...of 17 active covid cases, and none are in the ICU. Every now and again, the media will throw out some small explanation, like "and 90 percent of people are Asymptomatic.....and in other news...."

"...failure to do anything because someone else can do better makes us rather dull and lazy..."

Mortal as I am,I know that I am born for a day.  But when I follow at my pleasure the serried multitude of the stars in their circular course, my feet no longer touch the Earth...

Here in SA where I live in the economic hub we are moving into winter now with a huge increace in cases and there is talk of maybe going from level 3 back to 4 or even a total shutdown again.

Problem is that 95% of the people here live hand to mouth and there is no way anyone is going to tell these people that have just started to work again that they must now go home again and earn nothing :-(

We here do not have the "money muscle" of the first world and hunger is a mighty powerfull emotion I can tell you and this current generation still has the memory of how to be "dissobedient" towards a Gov. even a democratically elected one.

I have also earned maybe 10% of what I usually do over the past 110 days :-(

On the modling side. I  have been working on a 1/144 TU 16 that I wanted to experiemt with to get a good NMF without alclad (cant afford any modling stuff now) but the results were less than I had hoped for. I also did a water effect for a 1/72 Walruss, ,almost got it right but not quite, still ooads to learn so with those two "semi failures" my build Moe Joe is runnng low :-(

Arizona pretty much reopened everything and then cases spiked. Of course testing has also increased massively. Bars, movie theaters, gyms and water parks were ordered to close for a month yesterday.
Apparently I’ve already had Covid. I was feeling pretty ill a couple weeks back and got tested and came back positive for antibodies and negative for live Covid.

No gatherings allowed like IPMS meetings ect :-(

Schools have started a slow open for senior grades.

Thank you, Theuns.
The T-55 is the first model I’ve completed in a long time that I’m satisfied with how it turned out and didn’t just finish it to get it done. It’s probably the best tank model I’ve turned out since starting the hobby. The only thing I’d change is going a little heavier on some of the weathering. The two coats of flat really toned down the weathering more than I expected, not a big deal in the end. Now I feel like I’ll be able to do the Takom T-55’s and Miniart T-55’s justice that are in my stash.

The t55 looks really great, just the right amount of weathering and dirt, well build.

I updated the front page with the requested pic.

Mach71, the Enterprise turned out really nice. You have a lot more patience then me doing all those decals.

68GT, the Jug turned out great!

Cj2785, the trawler is coming along nicely.

Theuns, really like how the IL-2 turned out. I really don’t build aircraft anymore but if I do pick up one it will probably be an IL-2.

AA, nice work on the LRDG, I really like what you did with the front chain on the front holding the spare tire.

As of this morning the T-55 is finished apart from the commander.

I’m really happy with the way the tank turned out. This is the first model I’ve done a lot of different washes on and it really makes it stand out. The first picture you can put on the front page if you don’t mind Theuns. I’ll see about adding something else to the build once I finish up a Panzer I I’m working on.

AA I posted the pic. That looks outstanding, I like the dusty look of it.

Thanx for taking part.

You are welcome to do another if you like.
