Lockdown 2020 GB
Posted by Theuns on Thursday, March 26, 2020 9:19 AM

with large areas of the world in lockdown for the next few weeks, lets join in a GB to "keep sane" with all the maddness arround.

This is just for fun or as serious as you would like to build.

Any scale

Any subject, land, sea, air, steampunk, space whatevr, if you want to do a "space tank" battling the aliens why not , think out the box if you want.

Start 26 March 2020 untill 31 Sept 2020 ,should be nmore than enough.

WIP mpix please

crossovers welcome

models up to say 20% started welcome.

Main thing with this is to have fun in these uncertain times.

I am happy to look at sugested badges.

I seem to be living in the future.....It is actually March and not April LOL

It starts now and will run till end of june.

We are going into a country wide lockdown in 6 hours for 3 weeks.....it will be the first time since the 80's and 90's that we will have military APC's in the streets to support the police....last time this happened I was in an armoured ambulance, my how time flies...

Great idea bud! I'm not saying I'm in because I'm an essential worker and pretty busy but that's a great idea.

As I stated before, I'm essential staff, but I'm in!

I will start with a small, simple kit and add another, should my employment status change!

Kit Number one will be Eduard's Bell X-1 in 1/48th scale!

Can I get in on this?

Great Idea. I'm working on my T-38 for my Trainer GB, but I just pulled out my AMT

TOS Star Trek Galileo shuttlecraft.

I'll be building it out of the box so hopefully it will go fast.

Thanks

Im in, I'll have a couple of 1/144th scale P-51's and or Spitfires to throw at this group.

If I get that done, I might toss in a 1/48 AH-64D that I have been eyeing for about three months now.

Great, poster updated.

We are now in lockdown, it is early quiet, I have not heard one car, no planes flying, no police or army in the streets yet....almost like the start of every zombe movie I ever saw....I wonder ;-)

A Mate of mine was a mechanic on the Allo III in the South African Air Force and asked me do build hin a model of it. I will be dong is as a gunship with the 20mm MG 151 out the left door.

It will be a very simple build .the gun will have to be scratchbuilt but in 1/72 it should be ne problem.

I am rather interested to see thos littl 1/144 Spitties, they must be really small!

I haven't been on here in awhile and while my job is considered essential so I'm still working, I would like to join. I'm not sure with what yet. I have a Tamiya P-47 thats in it's early stages I could do.

Yeah, what the heck.

I'm starting a VTOL, STOL, STOVL GB on Apr 1st so I'll "jump" in with a Kitty Hawk 1/48 F-35B. Never built a Kitty Hawk kit so this ought to be intresting.

Steve

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

I got this far yesterday. Kit goes together really well, which is cool as i got it for 75% off at the local Lobby. I like the scheme on the box, the decals, not so much. Gonna try to paint it on, wish me luck

I'd like to join if there's room.  Gives me an excuse to tackle a Hasagawa 1/72 B-24D I've had on my shelf for a looooooong time.

Got the checkerboard, and color portions of the cowl complete. Feelin pretty good about it. Funny, though, when I trimmed the decals from the sheet, the clear film peeled up from the backing paper without any water! Glad I went this route...

Thats a nice Jug!

The Galileo has some paint on the interior and the nacelles are together. all if 2 pieces.

The Sprue attachment points on the upper hull are messy. The engineering on this kit is bad! I had to repair them. both sides.

This will be my entry.

The SAAF used the Allo 3 mainly for troop transport , medivac and sometimes mounted a 20mm MG 151 cannon to it as a gunship.

I will be doing a gunship one for my mate's build.

I have built this kit before and it is really not a nice build, loads of fit issues and the glasing takes allot of work to get into place, hoping this one will go better.

Here is what I will be building:

Eduardo 1/48th Bell X1 profipack, and I am also going to add in a special, current events appropriate resin Plague Doctor figure in resin I picked up from etsy.  I didn't expect to see this any time soon, as it was coming to me here in the states from the Ukraine.....
