I feel like this is a safe space, so I think I can make an admission.

I don't have a Messerschmitt in the stash...

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

How about a Chance-Vought group build instead? Stick out tongue

Start one up.

What the man said. People tend to do GB's around subjects that interest them, or the very least somthing they have in the stash. Put out a feeler and see what interest there is.

Here's Nick Millman's (Aviation of Japan blog) write up on the  Japanese 109E:

Or maybe I don't need to do any research... That covers pretty much everything I needed to know and a lot more! THANKS Jack!!!

Steve: Could be!

Lew: Now that's cool! I saw one of those cars in a museum as well as a Messerschmitt sewing machine! Guess times were tough after the war and you had to build whatever sold.

John: Cool! Always loved the look of the 410.

That and the German aircraft companies were not allowed to build aircraft after the war for some reason. Go figure

I guess no one expected the Germans to try to conquer Europe with a bunch of combat sewing machines... Wink

I'm not sure what happened to the aircraft and if they later were repainted or not. It's a question I'm going to have to do more research on.

Check to see if the DB 601 would fit in the Tony.

I've got these two.   the second one is a 210 not a 410 like I had said before.

I had an interesting idea for this build a 1/24 KR-200.  What's that you say?  It was a micro car built for the German postwar market.  Gunze Sangyo made a kit of it, but right now prices are making it unobtanium at the moment.  Here's a pic.

be nice if you could get hold of one. I wasn't sure if any of the bubble cars had been done in kits, but was hoping there might be somthing out tehre.

Bish: Thanks!

Steve: Actually they just painted over the German insignia with Japanese hinomaru and left the camo intact. I'm not sure what happened to the aircraft and if they later were repainted or not. It's a question I'm going to have to do more research on.

Gamera, yep, that would be fine. And crossovers will be allowed if your thinking of doing it for another Japanese GB. And John, be great to have you on board.

Bish: Xenon55 was kind to exchange this Bf-109 that he wasn't going to build for a kit I wasn't going to built- so we're both happy and I have something to enter.

You did say foreign markings were kosher- the Germans sent the Japanese five Bf-109E-7s. I'd like to go with this aircraft if okay by you.

gomeral, when your commited to half a dozens GB's at once, its time to worry Big Smile

Ha!  Well, given that I've yet to work out my pace and routines yet, I don't want to overcommit.  I'm SUPPOSED to travel heavily for work and if things miraculously clear up next year, I could be on the road a lot, so....anyway.

Checked the stash and realized that one of the first kits I bought to use for practice/etc. is an Airfix 1/72 Bf109G-6, so put me down for that.  I'll save it for next year and start on something else!  (Actually, I just washed all the sprues of a Tiffy Mk.Ib, so looks like that's going to be first out of the gate.)
