Alright guys, time to shut this thread down as the official thread is now up and running. We're less than two months away from the start.

I'm in! Just bought an A-10 kit this year which I haven't opened yet, so it'll give me a good reason not to let it gather dust in the stash.

Gomeral,

Welcome to the forums and I look forward to your build.  If you're up for it, RUMINT has it that the annual Weekend GB will be announced soon.

Lewbud -

So, I'm a relative newcomer to the forums, getting back into models/etc. and according to Bish, I don't have to worry until I'm committed to more than 6 GBs, so I'm in on this one.  I have a 1/72 Typhoon Mk.IB that I was going to use as my re-entry to the hobby (after pushing a Bf109 back for the Messerschmitt GB), so I'll push that one back and pick something else from the (tiny) stash to play with between now and next year.

Since CAS is my favorite type of aircraft, I would like to find one in my stash to join this GB. It has been some time since I built something that flies. I'm soon to be nearing my USS Arizona full reveal, so the timing is just about perfect.

Some of my past CAS aircraft builds:

Count me in, I will let you know what is being built soon.....

Armornut,

Yup.  Its the Trumpeter kit...had my employer order me one for my 10th anniversary gift.  Thought about getting a 1/48 Monogram off of Ebay, since I tried to build it when I was a teenager...but then I figured, the only way to do that monster justice is for it to be BIG.  I'll be building a UkrAF Su-25M1 with digital camo.  Some reviews I've read say that its the best Trumpeter kit yet, and that it practically falls together.  Other reviews and WIP shots show the thing covered in white or green stuff to fill all the gaps, so I guess I'll just have to wait and see.  I have some of the upgrade kits ordered, but just the ones coming from Ukraine, since they're going to take a while to get here.  All of the other available upgrades from Aires and Quickboost can be had in the US, so I'll wait and see if the kit versions are acceptable before I decide which upgrades to get.  I'm going to be a pretty tough customer to please though, since I'm nearing completion of the Tamiya 1/32 F-16CJ.  That thing has been an absolute joy to build...an almost flawless execution of engineering.

Planning on starting a WIP thread for the Frogfoot when the GB starts, and posting links here when that thread gets updated with more pics/build comments.  This build will be my first time trying out those MRP paints, since they have a lot of the standard Russian/Warsaw Pact colors.

Eaglecash it your 32nd the trumpy kit? I would love to hear about it positive and negative. I think I have. 48th Monorevellogram in my stash but been to lazy to dig it out....also not sure if I actually have it...refer to "I need to thin my stash" thread and it should explain. LOL.

MAYBE i can actually contribute to this GB, no promises or commitments, leave jokes at door LOL, but I would really like to start, contrubute, and FINISH a GB.

GM, thought I saw a couple tossed unto the mix.

Lewbud,  In with either a warthog or skyraider ...both are Tamiya 1/48.  Most likely the A1 as a "Sandy".

I believe the F/A-18F would qualify.  Have the 1/72 academy.

Lewbud,

How long do you think this GB will run once it starts?

There are different configurations in the kit for the F9F: All bombs, all rockets, or a mix of both. I'll have to take a look at the Sea Harrier again. It's been up on the shelf for sometime.

OK. In the stash: Way too much to build in one lifetime...

Not sure if any of these qualify, lewbud, but these are what I have in the closet:

Monogram 1/48 F9F Panther

Airfix 1/48 Sea Harrier

Accurate Miniatures 1/48 20mm cannon armed P-51A

Monogram 1/72 A1-E Skyraider

If none of these qualify I won't feel bad. I've already commited to two of Bish's upcoming group builds.

Frank,

Hang some rockets or bombs off the Panther and it's good.  The A model, nope.  Harrier and Skyraider are good.

Dodgy,

I looked up the Boomerang and it fits.  I look forward to seeing it.

Eagle,

Cool.  Looking forward to seeing it.

Hutch,

You've got plenty of time.  I don't even know what I'm going to build yet.

Count me in, but I don't know what with yet.  I've a Tornado in the stash, but I think I may feel a Harrier coming on...or, I may just surprise myself!  I'll let you know when I've made up my mind, if that's OK?

Vell, Zaphod's just zis guy, you know?

Eagle,

As plasticjunkie said it doesn't matter.  Build what you want as long as it falls within the parameters of the build.

Thanks Lewbud.  I'm in then, with a 1/32 Su-25 Frogfoot A.

Hey Lewbud, I would like to be a part of this as I'm new to the forums and have not yet participated in a GB. A question for you though. Being an Australian I would like to build the Boomerang. It was initially built as a stop gap fighter, but had no chance against Japanese fighters and was re-designated as a ground attack aircraft. Its not on the list and I'll have to do some research to see if it carried bombs. However, if this is not acceptable I'm happy to build a Stuka or some such.

Tomcat,

One or all of those would work.

PhilliePhan,

You've got plenty of time to get something.

Lewbud,

Not sure how these group builds work.  Can two participants build the same aircraft type?  Just wondering, because the Su-25 has already been mentioned by Armornut, and I have one on its way from China that should be here in December.

If I may answer that, it doesn't matter if several participants are working on a similar model.

Too many models to build, not enough time in a lifetime!!

I would  be interested. I have a  Cobra, an A-10 and an Av-8A. One of those should work.

Mark aka Tomcat

On the workbench: Monogram 1/24 '69 Pontiac GTO and a Monogram 1/67 (box scale) B-26 Invader
