Welcome aboard! No need to decide upon what to build at this time (though it's nice to have a selection).
The D-558-2 fits the bill for the KISS principle on group builds. I'm more likely to finish it that way!

Would Takom's 1/144 P1000 Ratte be allowed?
Otherwise I would submit Trumpeter's 1/35 E100 Super Heavy Tank, or Meng's A39 Tortoise. Both those did make it off of paper, but never into mass production.

Glamdring,
Yes, I think so. I give some leeway to tanks, so the Ratte would be fine. The others would be too. The "Black Prince" (A43) might be interesting.
PS> Here's a list of experimental tanks that could be built (if there's a model of them.)

That is an interesting list, it made me remember that I have a T28 in the stash too!

You know, this might be the pefect excuse to buy/build an XB-70, and that might mean an exploratory trip to the Air Force Museum!

Lord have mercy. I have one in progress. She is a huge beast. Lots of fit issues too. I got discouraged with it and set it aside.... That was 10 years ago. Shes still sitting.
I'm going to cancel this proposed group build due to "reasons" related to my health. Some of you might be disappointed. Others may breath a sigh of relief that's one less subject to build. Right now, I don't think I could run a group build and maintain the level of attention it requires. I offer my sincere apologies. I'm sure you'll find something to fill the time.
Wish you all the best gary, and hope your able to recover soon. I'm sure you'll be able to fit this in at a later date.
I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

I wish you a speedy recovery, Gary. While I hadn't signed up for this GB, I was watching with interest, and look forward to your return to health.
Best wishes, mate,
Hutch.

Oh gee whiz Gary, I hope it's nothing too serious and I too would like to offer my hopes and prayers to you for a swift recovery.

Same here Gary.
Get well, we can do this GB at a later date. Your health is the important issue.

Sorry to hear this. Wish you well.
I will still build the X29. Might even post pictures.
No worries Gary, the x32 can wait, you need to get well. When I was waiting for my transplant operation while in the hospital, the last thing on my mind were models.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.
