Throw my name in the hat for this one.

I will be doing the Revell 1/32 P51D with updated filleted resin tail in very colorful Contrary Mary markings.

Bish,

My "TBD" has finally been determined.  Put me down for a 1/32 Revell of Germany P-51D-15.  It made it across the pond.  Big Smile

k cbaltrin i gotta ask  how do you get that long joint glued now that the 2 halves are painted? Every time I read thru this thread i stop and wonder lol

I think Super Glue Mongoose, Zap-a-Gap to be exact, a new bottle that will set quickly. I'll work in 1 inch sections, put some glue between the two halves, press, and quickly whipe away any excess glue with a Q-tip. A little flat coat shold hide any remaing glue around the joint.

Hey John, You don't have to re-scribe that thing you know. Not planning on entering it in a contest are ya? Confused.  I am working on (well, it's on the shelf but I did actually work on it in the past 10 days) a Monogram B-17G -- Got the fuselage painted and decaled, but it's still in two halves Stick out tongue

Here's the box art for my entry, I see a lot of rescribing in my future.

Why rescribe? I can understand describing if the B-24 had flush rivets and butt joined panels, but the type did not. Overlapping panels and raised rivets were used, which the kit's raised panel lines do replicate fairly well.

Ouch, Frank!  I took a direct hit on my left index finger yesterday from a 22 ounce framing hammer, so in a sense I do feel your pain.

Another ouch. You know what they say about these things coming in 3's. I better be careful.

I could have an issue for the start of the build, Bish. I had a slip & fall about 10 days ago. I now have a metal plate and five screws in my right wrist. Doing exercises that hurt like fire. Hopefully I'll be able to hold an X-Acto knife by January 1. I'll keep you posted.

That sounds serious. I have broken both my scaphoids, in fact my left is still broken as it wasn't spotted unitl i broke the right 11 years later and it was to late to fix. But that sounds a lot worse to have the plate and screws in. Well, the GB runs for a year so you have plenty of time to get fixed up.

Probably more so, Jeaton. Just the thought of that hammer hit sends chills down my spine.

My sister, who is four years younger than me at age 71, reminded me that if you're over 70 you don't run. Especially when it's raining.

OK. In the stash: Way too much to build in one lifetime...

Bish

Welcome aboard guys. I'll be getting the roster updated at the weekend.

Tony, if you have issues with the decals let me know. I have 2 of those kits in the stash and i have AM decals for both. If yours are no good i can send you both my sets over.

Hi Bish,

I've checked the decals today and they look OK, not yellowed and nicely in register. Thanks veryu much for your offer though.

Cheers

Tony

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

The Yoxford Boys, good choice Mongoose. I had not realised Dragon did P-51's in that scale, will be fun to watch.

I'm in with Temptation! a P-51D from the 362 FS, 357 FG. The 357th Fighter Group was the first P-51 Mustang Group in the Eighth Air Force, training with P-51D's from November 1943 at Raydon, England and entering combat with them in February of the following year from their new base at Leiston.

I've got 2 Dragon kits in 1/32 scale. An early and a late tail. If I get ambitious I'll use the other decals in the set and do Passion Wagon with the early tail

and if ambitious...
