So my last post was in May of Last year, Between computer and Log-on issues i haven't been able to contribute for a while.

I actually finished my 51 in June and never was able to post any completed pics so here they are now.

"Miss Dallas" piloted by Captain Victor France 334th FS 4th FG. Captain France had 8.66 victories. He was KIA on 4/18/44 when he chased a BF-109 into the ground

The wing light cover was devoured by the carpet monster, I am still hoping that it will eventually turn up.

No worries at all. The hours of the zoo are flexible Smile. Take your time, finish your cat at your pace.

No shame in it Mach1, this is only a hobby and life often happens. Your tiger is looking good -- keep going!

I know it's past the end date, but it seems a shame to set this aside at this point. All I really have left are the decals and tracks before I close the hull.

First run partially assembled. The two lower sections aren't glued up yet, I just needed to verify I got all the flash cleaned up.

OK FSM, as promised, here are the pictures of my completed F-14 and -16. These are my final "animals" for the GB and the year. castelnuovo, feel free to use the first photo from each batch as the photos for the main page.

First, the shaved kitty...

And now the two-seat F-16...

Thanks for the support along the way. These two fought me the whole time! Now that these are done, it's onward to a new year and new projects.

Have a safe, healthy and proserous New Year, all!

Cheers,

-O

I just scrolled through this to see what I missed, and there have been some great builds in here!  After a long absence, I am calling the Tiger finished.

It has been quite a road in the interim for this: the tracks that refused to stay glued, a repaint of the camo (which still doen't please me!), and an air filter unit that somehow went MIA just while sitting on the shelf....but it reached the end line!

Being this one is nearly a year old I'm guessing I'm way past the cutoff for joining?Big Smile

Afraid so. The zoo is closing soon. Sad Oh, never mind, just build something, the finish line is all about "about", we are not on any deadline or stuff.

oortiz-great builds-seeing yours makes me want to add some modern jets to my stash/build schedule.  Can't wait to see more pics.

Opened up the Piranha last week, primed and then stopped.  Hoping to dive in tomorrow and finish before the 31st.  Kit is a simple build (built one in 1968/69?) but the tools are old and there is going to be a little clean-up.

OK FSM, my last two "animals" for the GB are done. I was able to get a Tigercat, Airacobra, and these two finished for this GB. The Fighting Falcon (Viper) was also built as a cross-over for the Lockheed GB. I'm headed out of town tomorrow, so my goals were to get these submitted before I left and before the year-end deadline. I just managed to do both.

Here are a couple of teaser shots. I'll shoot and post better photos after my trip.

I hope these are enough to whet your appetite and hold you over at the same time.

Thanks for looking and happy holidays!

Cheers!

Wow, your builds are looking great oortiz!

Looks like there is a small glimmer of hope for me to get my Super Bee done about on time. I need to finish wiring the engine and get body painted... will try to post a pic or two later.

OK FSM, I have some progress to show on my remaining 2 animals. First, the Tomcat.

The primary painting and decaling are done, and she's up on her legs.

I also have the primary painting done on my F-16, and I've started the decaling.

I'm headed out of town for the holidays on Christmas, so I need to get these suckers done in the next 14 days. I'll post some more progress as soon as there's a little more to share. Wish me luck!

Cheers,

-O

Sorry for going so long between updates. I've been slowly working on the King Tiger trimming, filing, and otherwise adjusting the PE zimmerit to fit. Here's where I'm at currently:

I just have a few small bits of PE left to attach before starting on the tracks.
