Well, lets make it official...

What is it: Any scale, any era, flying, crowling, rolling, floating on or bellow water, walking, jumping, sci fi, steampunk...build anything you want as long as the official name, nickname, code name, etc is that of an animal.

Nose art and squadron names are also OK.

When: Jan 1 2022 to Dec 31 2022...more or less

Incomplete list of possible models is here: https://cs.finescale.com/fsm/modeling_subjects/f/29/t/189559.aspx

This looks like a good one. Thanks for running it. I think I'll do something a bit different to my normal... a 1/43 Starter Ford Mustang from Daytona 1985. It's a resin kit.

Cheers

Tony

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

castelnuovo-great idea for a GB.  Question-does 'Animalistic' include fish, birds & insects?  Seeing your listing of the Wasp makes me think so but want to be sure.  I will be in either way.

Thanks

Yes. Fish, insects, birds are a go. "Akula" submarine, "Swordfish", "Fighting Falcon" "Hornet" airplanes are all good. Welcome Smile

Sounds like fun Castel, I'll have to see what I get for Christmas.

Question, I'll see what I get for Christmas but would a Raptor work. It's kinda general.

Castelnuovo,   Question:

What if the Nose-Art / A/C name is of an animal?

Okay, finally decided on what to build.  I've got this ancient (1982 rebox of a 1979 original mold) ESCI/ERTL kit of an F-5E Tiger II, in 1:48 scale.

I've also got two other kits I'm doing for other group builds that will qualify as crossovers: an F-16 Fighting Falcon that I'm doing for the Lockheed-Martin GB (1/72 scale, ERTL/ESCI); and a Me-262 Schwalbe (Swallow) in 1/48 scale by Hobby Boss, for the Junkers GB.

Castel I'm in! Great idea. Was looking for a build to throw my most recent purchase at. I'm in with a Kitty Hawk 1/32 Tiger II in FROG camo Beer oh I'm excited about this one.

In the pattern: Scale Shipyard's 1/48 Balao Class Sub! leaning out the list...NOT! Ha, added to it again - Viper MkVii, 1/32 THUD & F-15J plus a weekend madness build!

Mongoose: Nice!  I've already done one Tiger II in "Grape" aggressor scheme, thinking of doing this one in "Lizard."  I'll be interested in seeing how yours turns out.

Castelnuovo,   Question:

What if the Nose-Art / A/C name is of an animal?

Awww, love the pooch on the nose art. But I have to say no to this. The animal should be the vehicle itself, not named given to it by the crew. Hope it makes sense.

Edit...we live in a free and democratic country so I am open to votes by other members (and bribes Smile). Whadaya gang say? Should we let "chow hound" in?

I like the original name -- More far reaching IMO.

Castelnuovo, still waiting to see if animalistic nose art, so long as it's prominent anyway,  can be included, or  Squadron names for that matter (sure would like to build a Golden Dragons A-7 Corsair) Wink

I have settled on my project, it will be Dragon's 1/72 Tiger I, dressed up as Michael Wittman's Tiger.  If I did one of my big cat's in 1/35, I'd probably never finish in time with my schedule for the year.

The big question will it be the Italian Front tricolor or an Eastern Front whitewash....
