Your welcome I know just how you feel, when I built my B-17G from Monogram it took me 15 months of work, so it averaged about a hundred to a hundred fifty hours of work so Im glad the time extension is appreciated.

Hi all!

If I could I'd like to join this GB, it would be my first ever. The GB seems to be an interesting addition, to this hobby so I had to give it a try. This GB also just happens to fall in line with the next model I was planning on attempting to build. Hopefully this GB will keep the pressure on me to get it done. Smile [:)]

So if possible could I be added to the member list? I will be building Classic Airframe's 1/48 Savoia-Marchetti. Thanks

I am soooooo tempted to join in and include my 1/48 scale B-25J "Emergency Strip" as a part of this, but I'm not sure I'm gonna have the time to finish it by the first for two reasons.

1) Cannot start until early November due to numerous temporary living circumstances and travel.
2) Gonna be travelling a lot over the holidays.

I guess I could have summed that up by saying my start date would be too close to the deadline and I'm on an airplane a lot between now and the first.Tongue [:P]

Can I give you a tentative yes?

By the way... is there a bomber group build icon for participants signiatures?

Frosty, it was our pleasyre to let you join in on all of the fun.

Quagmyre, did you use that name from Family Guy, or is it just your nameBig Smile [:D], After this build is over I might be starting one up that is similar but the content is different, and you could join that. Now I could move the date back further to acomadate you if that is alright with everyone else becasue I just moved it back so if its alright with everyone else?

rebelreenactor, If you could post that badge it would be great. Now I was thinking there could be three different badges one that represents the vintage bomber, one that represents the Korean war to Vietnam war bomber, and one that represents the present day bomber. Now the time period in which your bomber came from will determin what badge you get. EX: a B-17G would get a vintage badge, a B-52would get the Korean Vietname badge, and a B-2 would get a present day badge. So what do you guys think.?

The name is not influenced by Family Guy even though I think Seth MacFarland is a comic genius! Funniest show ever on TV. Absolute crime it's not still on TV.

A Quagmyre is a Canadian drink my bartender roomate in undergrad taught me one year. The other Canadian drink he taught me was a Duck Fart. Not a tough choice. You can find the recipes for these rather readily on the Internet.

As for inclusion into the group build, I'll pass... getting a note from each and everyone might be a little much. Besides, I'm really not sure how much time I'm gonna be able to spend on "Emergency Strip". Would like to do some due dilligence on this one and put it in a diorama. Two months of a couple of hours here, a couple of hours a few weeks latter there, ain't gonna get it done. Quality will suffer. Thanks anyway.

O.K. THis is the patch I designed and altered. But this is as small as I could get it with the words still, barely visible.

If somebody knows how to rezize these thing correctly let me know and i can give you a regular size version to work with.

here is the correct GB patch size. 60 pixels by (i think 79)

Based on the group build icon in your signiature rebel, the dimensions are 65 x 65.

Can't use fancy fonts with small letters. Use simple fonts like Arial or better yet, Amarillo USAF or some other stencil font.

Use acronym and abbreviations where possible like the following...
____________
Medium &
Heavy Bomber

<B-24 pic here>

FSMF GB 2004
-----------------------

FSMF = Fine Scale Modeler Forum
GB = Group Build
2004 = duh!

Or maybe go acro-crazy and use M&HB up top.Tongue [:P]

That's my constructive criticism. I think it's perfect other than that.

In fact. Email (quagmyre@speakeasy.net) me the Photoshop file (full size). Graphic design is a hobby of mine. I'll gem it up for ya if you'd like.Wink [;)]

That you did and here it is... First the full size...

...and now the actual icon/avatar to be used in the signiatures.

These are always fun to make. And yes I used FS 595b Colors. Big Smile [:D]

Lemme know what ya'll think.

Well since the end date is Jan 1 I think I'd like to get in on this, but before I choose an aircraft I have a question. It says any era, any country, would this include post military use? I'm building a series of air tankers (fire bombers)which was a second career for many heavy bombers, would such a conversion be within the guidelines for the build assuming the aircraft started life as a medium or heavy bomber?

If not I have several that are well within the guidelines, a Lancaster has been staring at me every time I go to the model shop but I've always liked the B58, then again I've never buit a tri-motor, maybe something Italian, so put me down as a yes I'm in but uncommitted to a particular kit at this time.

Thanks

Hey, V.A.! Just saw this now... I'm actually building the G variant in Natural Metal... You know, I did get another kit, but it was the old Hasegawa B-17F in 1/72... I just can't get enough of these bombers! Wink [;)]

Hey, what're the guildlines for the use of the GB badge? Do we have to complete the model before we but the badge in our sigs?
