im trying tto keep costs down, so if i can aquire heheh some suitable metal then ill probably use metal. but already im going to be spending a fair bit of money on the vertical rods so money might be a little tight. ill see how it goes. but thanks alot for the metal idea, if i got the dough, ill- wait a minute ! i just thought of something! ill use the metal pieces from floppy discs ! they are about the right size! YAY !

HEY,
And if you buffed and polished the metal, you could get a really nice shine on it.

Just a suggestion, I would use evergreen styrene to build the curvy things. I bet you would be way better with some thin metal. The styrene will be harder to bend, thin metal should bend easily.
Just my My 2 cents [2c]

HEY,
It would be sick if you could do a stand like that. If you have much in your spares box, you might be able to find like a peice of a chassis, and use the wheel wells for the tire rests. If that makes sense. If you figure it out, post some pics. I might try something like that.

im putting off starting the enzo for this GB....... now working on my mosquito. i was thinking, whats the best way to display the enzo ? on my vette, i just have no base, its sitting in the display case. for my subie i got a piece of HDfoam and painted it black. it was pretty shitty looking Tongue [:P] im now considering using some metal stock to make a base, then making something like this http://www.motorimania.it/anteprima/ferrari.enzo/images/ferrari.enzo.2.JPG

any thoughts ?

HEY,
I will have to check that site out. And ues, i do love cars.lol I planning on painting my enzo either italian red or gloss red, not sure. Most likely gloss red. We will have to post pics of them when we are done. Cant wait for this GB to start though. Got some good ideas. Might be building two cars for this one. The truck and also a dodge viper. Matters whether i feel like starting the Viper before the first or not.

yo man, the cigarette paper idea isnt mine, i got it from www.italianhorses.net i know you like cars randy, you will LOVE italianhorses. just look for the details of the tamiya enzo ferrari build and you will see how he used cigarette paper to simulate perforated metal in the engine bays. i love doing that kind of thing. hope this helps. btw, my enzo is going to be yellow, what color is yours going to be ?

HEY,
Im interested as to what your using the cigarette paper for. Im building the revell kit right now so anything to make it more realistic would be cool. Thanks. I just got the revell Viper GTS. From what i can tell its pretty good, but is it just me or are the instructions in the new level twp kits getting to be really cheap looking?

some see it as a challenge, but i think that getting a good kit to start off with saves alot of priceless time. it *is* very challenging and a joy to scratchbuild cockpits and rescribe panel lines, thats part of the hobby, but i sometimes feel that starting off with a good kit is worth the extra money.

today i was looking for cigarette paper for the engine bay of the ferrarri that will be starting in 5 days time, and i got ALOT of funny looks from people as i picked up cigarette boxes from the sidewalk. my mom was majorly pissed cos i smelt and consequently parts of the house now smell like cigarettes.

Revell's new kits tend to be very crappy, you know the ones in those grey boxes with the blue trim.

i got a kit!!! well........kits lol i couldnt help myself, its revell/monograms 1/48 f-4f wildcat and zero........gonna be a duel!!!!!!! when i got home i (like with every kit i get) open it and scan through the pieces..................i felt like throwing up!!!! no engine on either of them and of what u see of the engine is pretty crappy lol........the folding wings on the wildcat r crap, (im makin it in flight but still) the decals are scarce.......the pilot figures are horrible!! especially the zero pilot!!!! he looks like a skeleton!! the interior for the wildcat is a pilot figure and a seat back! no instruments!!! the zero has instruments and nothing else!!!! AHH!!!

hahaha i love a challenge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Big Smile [:D]
