The GB patch works fine for me.

A group build is when several members of the forum build models that are somehow related. In this case we are all under 18 and built models of our liking. It was really cool knowing who was not one of the older guys and was young just like me. This GB is now over, but we are keeping it as a gathering place for all of us young guys. We post pics of our work and just talk about... stuff.
we'd be glad to have another around.

In other news, just took my 1st drivers training lesson. Now I can drive, and on July 6th, I can get my license!!!!! Just in time for a summer job. Now its time to drive with mom and scar the crap out of her. Evil [}:)]Evil [}:)]Dead [xx(]Tongue [:P]

Have any of you seen the Movie Full Metal Jacket?
Its got a great boot camp scene that I reccomend you watch..... without your parents near by. (LOTS of cussing, but funny as hell)

you guys are only getting your lisence now?!! i got mine in may! up here in Alberta you can get you learners permit at 14, and you lisence 2 years after that. the permit requires just a 20 question test, pretty easy, i got 19/20. with a lerners you can only drive if there is somone over 18 with a lisence in the vehicle.

the full drivers lisence requires a road test, the road test is really hard and alot of people don't pass it the first time. i know a guy who took 4-6 trys until he got it. i did it in my mom's malibu, and i was use to driving it so i passed with ALOT of marks. (there is a certian amount of points you have, and they get taken off for doing wrong stuff). i lost some marks on parking, nothing serious, just not straight enoughDead [xx(].

i currently drive a 1989 mercury topaz. this is it's site http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/443996/2
at least it runs.... not that fast, but i did beat that same guy (who had troubles passing his test) in a race and he drives a mazda mx3. there was ice, and he stomped on the gas, not wise when there is little tractionTongue [:P]

when i graduate my parents are giving my a 2001 (i think...) ford ranger.

hmmmph. I, living in NY (with the strictest driving regulations) and being only 14, have a long way to go.

Wow, Over here in California, you gotta be 15 1/2 to get your permit. You must have your permit for 6 months and 50hrs of driving with an adult 25 or older. If I would have got on my case and got my permit last spring, I could be getting my license in February, ohwell

here is a link to a dio I made but never got around to posting pics of. I built it in the Fall for a competition, where it won best of show, next to the 10yr old kids first ever model car. EMPTY VICTORY! I think at the next local competition i'll see if I can enter with the older guys, they usually dont have a lot of armor there. Unless my competition in the juniors catagory is not bad, then I'd enter there.
anyways.

and a teaser.

[:0]Dude, Alberta's licensing is soooo easy! crap i wish i was in Alberta. here in BC, we have to wait till 16 to get Learners, which I got just before christmas, and wait ONE year to do the road test. and our Learner knowledge test is 50(!!) questions, and you have to get 80% to pass. But I aced it with 92%.

btw, I am EXTREMELY lucky, because as of the end of February this year, they are raising the minimum age for Learner's license to 18!![:0] and TWO years before one can take the road test! I just made it!

Edit...
Reb, nice diorama! you're the 'dio-king' of the Young Guns!Wink [;)] and i'm with you on the empty victory part. Here's an idea: what if us forum Young Guns got together and had a modeling contest? that'll get interesting..

Oh yea, werent we going to have the older guys judge our builds?
And dio king?ThanksBig Smile [:D]Blush [:I]! Well, not so sure though, I'm still trying to figure some techniques out. I need to do an Urban dio too. Big Smile [:D]Blush [:I] I cant remember who did it (it was a young gun though), But there was a very nice t-34 dioram with some Russians around it.

Oh, and congratulations on barely making it! They legislature here is trying to make the driving law to age 18 too!Shock [:O]
