Well, looks like we have 4 interested so far, be nice to get just a few more to get a real GB going. Maybe starting around Sept/05 and ending Sept/06 - giving people a enough time and breathing space to join in?

BTW Wingnut, great looking engine.

Could we re-open this maybe? I would be interested in joining.

Hey, looks like this GB didn't get anything finished? I tried to do a cutaway GB a while back couldn't get enough interest. I guess a super detailed GB with cutaway included would be a good idea. I'll be in if we want start a new GB, I already have a Japanese figher picked out.

Hey wing-nut that looks amazing and as can clearly be seen you put a lot of work and time into that model great job and thanks for sharing it in this forum!

Maybe if it doesn't re-open we could start a new one ??... just a thought!?

I bought this is at the beginning of April and started just after registering for the forum late in April but did not finished until a week or so ago. Does it still count if I at least started in April? It is a 1/48 Hasegawa 109G-6 w/resin & PE engine and pit. Tires "weighetd down" with a candle, control surface cut out and repositioned hanging down

WOW count me in on this group build , I love scratchbuilding I recently just finished scratching an all new cockpit for fujimi's 1/72 stuka , so I'm up for my next challenge, put me done for giving the old Aifix 1/72 P51 D/K a new face lift with a new cockpit , wheel wells , and Maybe some dropped flaps?

Has anyone ever done a cutaway on a model, I'm thinking of doing it on the Bf109. I notice theres an article on it in FSM this month, but the mag comes out later in the month in the UK so I've not read it yet.
I'm just wondering if itll be beyond my ability, or should I give it a try anyway? Hmmmm...

Tamiya(?) I believe made a cutaway Zero a few years ago; I just saw it in my hobby shop a few weeks ago.

I know the feeling! I started an EE Lightning back in August thinking I'd get it built and out of the way before this GB starts. Now its November and its still primer grey!!! Where did September and October go?

Hi folks,
Only a few weeks to go until this GB starts. To join this GB you don't have to do anything really fancy. Its a place to learn those scratchbuild techniques and share them with others.
Feel free to get on board!

I've just managed to get hold of a copy of this months fsm. The cutaway 109 is truely amazing. I think I shall be a bit less adventurous and just have a go at exposing the cockpit area....hmmmmWink [;)]

Thanks for the heads up. Unfortunately, since this month is turning out to be a lot busier with school and work that I thought, I'm going to have to drop out of this GB. Sorry guys, and I hope the rest of you have fun with it.

I will be going ahead with my CHally 2. I can get references online, and I will use the recent issue of Tamiya Model Mag as a guide, as I can work from some of the details I see from there.

AFV Modeller magazine did an extreme detail walkround feature on the Chally 2 in issue 17. Well worth a look!

The commonwealth GB is going to start shortly. I will be going ahead with my CHally 2. I can get references online, and I will use the recent issue of Tamiya Model Mag as a guide, as I can work from some of the details I see from there. I've attempted to find update sets, but all I found was one from Accurate Armour, and that is a little too pricey for me, so I will be replacing as many parts as I can with scratchbuilt ones.

Give it a try I say. I've read the article a couple of times and it looks to me as though its all in the planning and research to ensure you have enough information. I think time lines have to go out the window too as it would be too easy to short cut. But like you I'm very tempted and this is just the place to do it as you'll get heaps of encouragement and help

awesome news guys! Revell just released two 1/6engine kits. one is a Ford 427 SOHC and a Chevy 350. im switching over to the cammer for this GB for sure, and who knows. i might do the 350, too. im only switching because ive always wanted to do an overhead cam eginne and it should be a little more readily available than the 283. later.

If you won't laugh too loud for a novice (who am I kidding, beginner!) in PE, I'll join as well. Can't nominate a kit yet, as I've got a few options open and I won't be able to start November. What I can tell, is that it will be a racing car - very likely either the D2 Merc DTM or the see-though Ferrari F2002 (F1) with SMS PE set.

I've decided that this GB would be ideal for me to do the Revell 1/72nd PT-109 with the WEM p/e set and some other scratch built bits. Not many ships get built in these GB so heres something a little different.. I can't start until the new year though.

So fiasco add my name to the list please
