Before & After Diorama GB (2-1-05 to 9-30-05)

Before & After Diorama GB (2-1-05 to 9-30-05)

Here is the idea behind this diorama group build. It would actually require building two, a before and after diorama. Build a diorama and then another one using the same subject in the same setting with a passage of time between the two. The amount of time between the two dioramas could vary, from a few minutes to many years. Lots of possibilities here and it would work for almost any modeling subject.

Official start date is February 1, 2005 to be finished by September 30, 2005.

Here are a few rules.

1) Any subject(s) or scale. Aircraft, Armor, Sci-fi, Ship, Auto etc. all welcome.
2) Each diorama should tell its own story but also a more complete story when viewed together.
3) Post progress reports and pictures during the build.
4) When your diorama is completed you must post pictures of each completed diorama.
5) After you have posted your completed diorama pictures you may display the GB badge for this build in your signature if you like. (Badge coming soon)
6) Have Fun!

I would very much like to be a part of this build, but can I have a total of four? What I would like to do is have one before, two during and one after. I have always wanted to do a dio from the begining to the end about a cars life, brand new, weathered, being worked on and the restoration finished. Will I be allowed? Thanks....

Here’s a link that might inspire some of the Auto/Truck/Motorcycle guys for a before/after diorama build.

it'll be the same one, sounds like my main job will be electrical stuff cause i'm geeky like that. but i believe i'll also be asked to do some of the scratchbuilding and work on the cars. not really sure of the plan as of yet, it was 3:30 in the morning when we were discussing it

Yeah if anyone dosen't mind we(mrfloyded and I) would like to build this together for a few reasons...
1) with all we would like to see done with this project I will more than likely need help to finish on time.
2) it will be a good excuse for him to vivit more often.
3) he has allready given me some good ideas for the buid and I saw it fitting that he partake in it.
So I to am asking permission.....
Thanks....

I'm still in. I just saw on greatmodels, a train station in good condition, and the same one in a ruined state. It automatically started churning ideas in my head. It would cost around $50 for it though, and that doesnt include the train platforms. I might start saving.....

Id really like to do this train station idea. I think I have the money?Dunce [D)]Tongue [:P] But I'll get a job this summer so it wont matter anyways. Then, If I get the 2 pieces, some fig and vehicle layout. I though of a tank or something on a rail cart going off to war for the first half. and for the second half the train station blow to bits and in pieces. Then maybe a russian tank or german halftrack with troops. Ok, ideas are flowing!Smile [:)]

Cool idea! Right now I'm up to my neck in GB's but by the sping I should have most of those done. Maybe something different, like the Titan's Civil War (Gundam)!

I was paging through an Air Classics last night and saw a neat subject. It was a the story of the restoration of the P-40B by Fighter Rebuilders in Chino. There was a picture of it sunk down in the Siberian Tundra taken about 1970, then another picture of the completly restored plane taken in 2002.

This article got me to thinking about this GB.
