Welcome aboard, Peruytu! Nice Mig-29 pic. Is that a FAP a/c? I know what you mean by not knowing where to start! I pretty much bought one each of the Aztec line! LOL - Calvin

Manuel, if you change the title of this GB to Aircraft Latinamerican GB (removing the armor that way) I will email the higher powers and ask them to make a note of it in the aircraft forum. We will get more traffic of people seeing this that way. Just go to the first message you posted in this topic and edit the message, taking out "armor" and it will change the title that way!

Thanks!

Thanks of the invitation tho9900!

So yeah, i'm definately IN!

But i'm not sure what aircraft to do. It will definatley be a Peruvian FA aircraft but i'm debating whether to do the Mirage 2000DP or Su-22. I already have all the Aztec decals to its just a matter of which one.

Dear friends:

Welcome aboard Swedish Mick...along some posts, tho9900 tell me about my country Mexico, well, let me show some from my hometown San Luis Potosi:

is a DC-3 at Tangamanga park, using a "soft drink" uniform, in good conditions; I want to share this to all you because is a differente scheme for a great plane, I hope this liked you. In Mexico there are few airplanes museums, but there are a lot of great airplanes on almost all the contry's cities where we can find rarities in good restauration condition like this.

Best regards.

Manuel

great!!! Welcome aboard! yeah I know what ya mean about the group builds... they just keep coming up with bigger and better ones all the time... I am slowly learning to say no though... (ok I only did it once and it didn't make me feel any better but I did!) I guess I need to keep up with what everyone is building and make a list...

Good luck and thanks for coming by!

Nice! I want to join! But how the **** will I be able to complete all the interesting GB's?!? I haven't completed a kit for the last four years or so, and now I have four entries in GB's and two more coming in March.
I was hoping that there would be no more intersting GB this year, but it seems like no-one listened Smile [:)]
Oh well, you better put me down for some builds in this GB, then:
An 1/72 Airfix MiG-23 Flogger in Cuban colours and if allowed, a What if, an 1/72 Airfix kit of Saab J35F2 Draken as a San Martin aircraft with Managuayan markings. You don't know where San Martin and Managua is? Somewhere in Central America ...

I don't think there was one Calvin.. (thread in the AC topic) I need to email one of the administrators as I think they consider this a all around GB when it has turned into a "aircraft only" GB... will have to check out the Zotz thing.. thanks for the info!!!

I have the P-47 now.. waiting on decals! just have so many real life and modeling things in the way haven't started! How's your end holding up? Would love to see some pics!

Someone should find the Thread in the Aircraft Forum section and bump it. I tried but couldn't find it. Was there one posted? There was some talk about another company (Zotz) that does S. A. & other latin countries sheets. Plus there was questions about a latin american build. - Calvin

Dear friends:

As ask you to me tho9900, my P-47D that I want to build is the old Revell 1/32 with my own decals from those Mexican P-47 who fight in the Philipines along with another old Revell Jeep 1/35 in a diorama, for the Jeep I saw this picture:

By now I want to find pictures of the Jeep because the Revell kit have poor details...let me find the WWII Mexican P-47 decals at 1/48 scale that I have.

Best regards

Manuel

ok picked up my Tamiya P47-D, need to get on Aztec's site and order those decals, looking at the end of Jan as a good time to start that one, gives me a whole month before the Aussie GB kicks in... I'm pretty excited about this, might give it to my dad as a gift if it turns out good. (first time using Alclad II)

You guys are great! Hey, Ya won't believe this, but my fiance actually met the pilot of the Hind that was shot down by Ecuador forces!! My fiance's father retired from Gov't work in Peru, he was also ex-Peruvian Navy and knew Marco Antonio Schenone. She meet him when she was a teenager in about '88 or '89! She's gonna try to get her cousin in Peru to maybe find a way to get ahold of the family and when I get it together I was going to send some pics!
Boy, it really is a small world!!

Great! Aztec Decals "Latin Eagles IV" has the escuadron 201 decals in them... I will try to order them soon as I have the F4F I am building done...

Thanks for the input Manuel! The icture is actually a little different than the decals from aztec, I will probably use the picture for reference. In the decals it shows the MExican Insignia on both wings and body, in the picture it only shows it on the starboard wing, the rest are the US symbols. I will see if I can find more pictures tonight to verify this!

Have you decided what you will buil Manuel?

Something interesting about escuadron 201, we were discussing recently how the Tuskegee Airmen of the US always went places the non-black squadrons wouldn't. (They were a group of black pilots) The 201 also went against targets others couldn't hit, went into impossible odds to complete the mission and they always did! I'll see if I can find a website showing some of the heroic things they did, I was reading it the other night...

ooooooohhhh!!!! thank you Miguel!!! that's an awesome picture!

I will go out and look tonight but I think one of the companies I saw had them... if not I will try to find just the national insignias and print or use from another set the rest!

I got my AM P-51C in today! I was planning on doing this bird for the LatinAmerican GB. I'll be putting it in FAD ( Dominican Air Force) markings! I really didn't want to start right away, I'll be leaving for NAS Fallon at the end of Feb. and have (quite literally) about a dozen kits in various stages of construction!! LOL - Calvin

Dear tho9900:

Very nice work¡¡¡ its a good start...in the other hand, maybe wee need to think to separate the aircraft and armor Latinamerican Group Build, and once again, some suggestions?

By now, we start first the Aircraft Latinamerican GB and maybe in few months maybe start the Armor Latinamerican GB.

Dear lodni_k thank you for your words, I hope to see in the future a Latinamerican model by you.

Best regrads

Manuel

I was looking at the F-86 markings from Aztec... a simeple NMF with those colorful decals would look good! I am thinking about it.. likeyou said we have time...

Well..... actually the F-86 was my wife's idea... she decided it was cuter than the Dragonfly I was thinking of building.. Wink [;)] I dunno I figured she owuld have picked the dragonfly because it's rounder.. like a volkswagen!
