Looking really good Marc, this is your first model back after a while right? You've done very well!Thumbs Up [tup]Boly - progess - yes there is!

I have the first stripe masked where the serial is and it took a long time.  I still have to mask the serial on the undersides of the wings too.  Then I can mask the rest of the stripes and paint.  Maybe by the weekend I'll get the black stripes on?  The canopy is almost masked too, I've never done a green house like this before it has always been fighters and in larger scales!

Holy man is this masking taking for EVER!  I just spent the last week masking the canopy (which still isn't totally finished) and the stripes and numbers on the wings/fueslage (which is also not fully done, just the stipes for the fuselage is left).  My in-laws are coming down again this weekend so not much will be happening...Sad [:(].  Oh well, I sure hope all this blasted masking will be worth it!  Next week, I promise!

Way To Go Marc! Looks pretty darn good! Like curious Dave to the west of me, that is another hurricane next it isn't it, what are you going to do for that one!  Is it another Aairfix?

Boly Progress Update:  I spent three hours last night finishing the masking and then airbrushing the black stripes and this morning I took everthing off ...   and it looks fantastic! Big Smile [:D]

I had paint pull up in only a few spots, mainly where there was putty underneath (belly seam was the worst) but I've touched it up and it looks great!  I'll charge the batteries tonight and take some pics for ya all in the morning!

I am also able to skip a step as I painted it with gloss yellow and gloss black so I can get on the decals asap!  The light at the end of the tunnel is getting closer!Tongue [:P]

Jules how is your spit coming?... Jules... are you there?

Thanks for the comments guy's it's greatly appreciated.

Eagle Eyed Dave & Jay  Yes it's another Airfix Hurricane actualy I was building 3 for my BoB Dio, YO*H the one for this GB the one Dave spotted will be YO*A flown by S/L McNabb and the third one was the sister to this GB model that I had to scrap (I'll probably start to build the new one for the BoB GB if work does'nt get to bad) was YO*R F/O H de Molsons aircraft they all participated in the Sqn's first op Aug 26/40.

Marc, You seem to have a good idea on who flew what aircraft, do you know who flew YO*J? (My BoB RCAF No.1 Hurricane from last year).

Well, I guess these pics will have to do, I accidentally used a partially corrupted floppy to bring the pics to my work so not all my pics saved properly.  I have 1.5 pictures!  You get the idea, I'll have to make sure I use a good floppy tomorrow.

BTW happy Valentines Day to everyone!

Thanks for the comments, feels good to look like I am accomplishing something.

Yeah, I know what you mean Dave, all the new computer at work don't have floppy drives, luckily I have two computers and one is an older one that has a floppy.  My home computer at is 6 years old and even though I have a usb connection on it I don't have a usb memory stick so I have to save the stuff on a floppy to bring to work to post pics.  My home computer also has problems with all the images on FSM and takes ages to do anything like uploading to photobucket.

Like I said before it's looking great Jay.  How did you find masking the numbers?  Did you use a stencil or something to cut the numbers out of tape?

For masking the numbers (which took a while!) I first printed out the correct size font onto a piece of paper.  I have several RAF and RCAF WW2 fonts - if want them let me know and I can email them to you. Anyway, I then used double sided tape and put it on the back side of the paper and then cut out the numbers individually with a new no.11 blade.  Making sure the correct angle was consistent was hard, the starboard side doesn't look quite enough of an angle, each stripe is supposed to be 45 degrees from center.  I also had to make sure I kept the inside of the number for masking the yellow parts of the numbers on the black stripe and the outline for masking the black parts of the numbers on the yellow area between the stripes. Over all I am quite happy with the results.  I still have some minor touch ups to do.

I also have to mask the letter "B" on either side of the fuselage just under the turret and a little "B" on either side of the nose (See b&w picture several pages back).

Sounds like you got every angle Laugh [(-D] covered.  Sure, I would love a copy of those fonts.  Drop me an email when you get a chance.
