Its the carrier Oriskany, and I'm about 45% done with the hull and island details.  Just ordered a bunch of 1/700 scale planes to make an airwing for it.  Hope to be done around June.

USS Oriskany in 1/700 scale, as seen in the movie "Bridges at Toko Ri".  Although the movie was made in 1955, the ship didn't look much different than how it appeared during it's Korean deployment in 1952.

Naw, not over, just poking along.  My carrier hull is about done, so is the island, and got the flightdeck about ready to stain.

My update on the conversion of the Dragon 1/700 Randolph to the Oriskany.
I have the scratchbuilt  island about done and the modifications to the hull about finished.  Have a new flightdeck for a post 1948 long hull Essex on order from Nautilus that will make it easier for the conversion.

Now in the process of making new guntubs for the bow and setting up an order for new aircraft such as Cougars to be modified into Panthers, AD1s, F4U-5s, and some H5 helis.

I've been gone forever (busy with real-life issues), but I'm about ready to start again on my Corsair. I just hope I can make that deadline.

Great looking work on the M-26, Zokissima! I like the weathering on it. Very convincing.

I've got the cockpit assembled on the F4U-5N and some other basic assembly such as the wings but nothing much to post pics of. I won't be able to post pics for a while as I no longer have use of a camera and I won't for some time until I can get one.

Nice shading on the M26. I might start mine for the GB since I may be waiting until the end of the month for parts for my carrier project.

Well, I finally got around to posting some pics. I couldn't get my camera, so I had to use a crappier one. SOrry for the quality of the pics.
The kit is the DML M26A1, built OOTB, with only a few spares-box stowage items from various kits, including the pioneer tools.

Hello, I saw this GB and thought about joining too, however, I don't know if i'll make the deadline. I'm converting a DML Randolph to the Oriskany in 1/700 but I'm not expecting it to be done until June.

Don't worry about the deadline, it's not really that important. I can extend it(or delete the dealine altogether) if it's okay with everbody else in the build.
