Hello, I saw this GB and thought about joining too, however, I don't know if i'll make the deadline. I'm converting a DML Randolph to the Oriskany in 1/700 but I'm not expecting it to be done until June.

However, I also have a M46 sitting in the stash and just might have to put it together for some fun.

Cheers,
Scott

I've got nothing much to report on my M26 I'm afraid. I managed to paint the tracks and fill the seam where the two turret halves join the other night but that was about it.

Hmm, quiet around here. Anyhow, the cockpit set for my F4U-5N arrived today. Now, I can finally get started. How's everybody else doing?

I take the Tamiya one piecers, spray them first with Tamiya metallic gray. When that dries, give it a wash of black, then brown and then I give them a wash of Mars Red Weathering powder mixed with isoprobyl alcohol. The last wash give a the appearance of a little rust here and there. Not too heavy as rust usually gets knocked off most areas when the tank is moving. Lastly, a dry brush of steel on the high parts. Alternatively, you can base coat with Tamiya hull red for the rust, give it a HEAVY wash of black and brown and then dry brush. Hope that helps/.

Sure you're not. I just basically finished my Bulldog. All I have to do is spray the body, and put the main pieces together. Also, can somebody tell me how to reproduce wethered tracks using one-piece tracks? They are old Tamiya tracks if it matters at all.

Ok, after a failed attampt at a wash stripped the paint off my Mig, i've been a little reluctant to do anything else to it. I'm giving it a few more coats of future before I even try. BUT IM STILL NOT IN THIS BUILD!

I'm going to a cabin from September 11th, to the 18th, so it's a week of nothing but peace, quiet, and my Pershing. I'll be taking pics, so upon my return, there'll be a full series, from build start to finished product.

I can happily say that the A-1 Skyraider is 100% done! I was suprised at how quickly everything came together. There's very little interior detail, and so that sped things up. The other day I glossed it, waited a day, applied declals, and yesterday flat coated it. Today I painted the canopy and installed the rockets. The only thing not on it are the 3 drop tanks, but they won't be installed till after I break out the white again. I would post pics, but my camera batteries are dead. I'm starting to get ahold of this modeling thing, seems like they all go through in less time now.

Allright guys, here's a few pics of the A-1 (along with my Tbolt and Fokker DVII). Soon it'll get weathered, and then it'll be ready for gloss/decals/flat.

I don't know about it looking better than hand-brushing; I've done some nice looking paint jobs by hand. Also, bastrump, I have severly enforced rule: if you are in more than 10 builds you can't join. So there, shoo. (Kindly disregard the last two sentences-- that's my bad-half talking)

That was my first attempt. Just take it slow, and remember to have plenty of bounty's handy. things can get pretty messy, and you may want to cleam something off in a hurry. Other than that, dont spray too much at one time, and dont change how much you spray in mid-spray. Wahtever you do, you can be sure that it will probably come out better than handbrushing. Hey! Hey! I'd like to get in on this GB if that's OK. I have the Monogram ProModeler 1/48 F4U-5N along with CAM decals for VMF(N)-513. How's that sound?

Thats the url, and you may want to shrink the badge a little (Or I can do it, just ask)
The plan right now is to cut the red stars out of the NK AF decals, put them on, take some pics of it, then put the rest of the north korean decals on. May be a bit tricky, but If we can pull the old switcharoo on em, I'll be in!

Progress on the Mig so far. This is my first attempt at airbrushing, and even though i forgot to sand the seams down (idiot!Banged Head [banghead]Ashamed [*^_^*]) and the kit has no cockpit (is my first attempt at scratchbuilding in the works?) and I painted a little unevenly, It looks much better than my old mig (which is dark grey) or my handpainted cammo.
Prepare to vomit:

(Join)That's okay,(join) no pressure. Also, I like(you will join now) that badge; it's a lot better than the one I made. Will you give me the URL code? I am having problems saving photos on my computer as .jpg; and remember,(join) no pressure to join.
