Rob, I'd suggest either Bounty Hunters or Black Nights.

My twobobs sheets arrived and they look fantastic! Never used twobobs before, how do you apply those "2 part decals"? Right on top of each other?

I'm still undecided between VFA-143 and VX-31. Maybe I'll just do bothBig Smile [:D]

Welcome aboard Glenn.

Rob, glad to hear that your getting so much building done. I'm still fighting with the camo on my spitfire. So much for freehand camoBanged Head [banghead]

I've given up on the aeromaster sheet, no formation lights!. Ordered VFA-143 and VX-31 from TwoBobs today.

I'd like to sign up. Saw one of the F's perform at an airshow, and got to walk around an E. I have the R/M kit, and will probably go box stock. I got a kick out of the stealth style landing gear doors.

Hi guys

Matt, thanks for the link, will start the pooling list this week.
I use the following site for USN photos.
http://www.navy.mil/view_photos.asp?page=7&sort_type=0&sort_row=1
I just use the search facility.

GA, hang in there with ur F-18C. ARC has tons of info, just like FSM. Been following a thread where Dave Roof is building the RM F/A-18E and Hasegawa F/A-18F side-by-side. Very informative, maybe I should post the link here?

My Aeromaster VFA-115 decals rocked up this weekend but realised that I would have to use the kit decals for common stencils. Meaning I have butcher the kit decals to get lights for the vertical stabs etc. Thinking of getting the TwoBobs VFA-115 lo-viz sheet to get the stencil decals.

Same problem with the RoG decals, 4 options but u can only get one plane out of them.

John,
The pooling of website/ resourse stuff sounds like a great idea to me, since all the references that I have consist of pictures that I have found on sites like
www.patricksaviation.com
and the like.

Sorry had to fix the website address had it wrong the first time.

Trying to complete my spitfire for the WWII GB. As simple as the kit is just haven't had the time or the motivation. Must do the BF-109 before January as well but its cammo scares the living daylights out of me.

Might attempt a 2nd entry into the Attack Helo GB and I'm striving the finish my Strike Eagle that I started ages ago.

On the brightside, my new Badger 360 has arrived so now I have some motivation again.

As for our GB, TwoBobs are releasing a lot of decal sheets for CAG birds for those who are interested. Dunno when the lo-viz sheets are coming out. Haven't seen any new resin cockpits etc in /148 yet, sorry guys don't follow 1/72 stuff.

Do you think we should pool all our reference websites together? Maybe put all the links on the first page or something?

Let me know what you think.

All that I am waiting on is the start date and my bench to clear up. Cant wait to do these kits, been on a bit of a WWII binge lately.

Hi all

Thought I would add something to "bump" the thread up the listing to get some advertising going.Whistling [:-^]

Received the 1/48 RoG E kit as well on Tuesday, so now I 2 superbug kits. The decal sheet is made by DACO and features 4 different markings. 1x hi-vis VX-9, 3x lo-vis for VFA-143, VFA-27 and VFA-137.

Just waiting for my aeromaster VF-115 sheet to arrive and then I'm set. Planning to build the CAG bird armed with 4x JDAMs as they flew in the Middle East.

How is everybody else doing on the "gathering" side of things?

welcome aboard A6EFan.

Are you going to use the BOL rails from a F-14 kit or scratchbuild the rails for the phoenix missiles? Either way I can't wait to see it.

After a discussion over at ARC I've been toying with the idea of doing a F model with the VX-9 Black Bunny markings one day.

Sounds greta to me Karl! Count me in for a Hasegawa 1/48 'F' as a "what if" VX-4 F-18F armed with AIM-54 Phoenix on the inboard pylons! This is going to be cool!Thumbs Up [tup]

John,

I do have the "E" kit as well from Hasegawa, so I guess that you could sign me up for both, I'll build them together, most likely OOB.
So there is another E type for you!!!

Welcome aboard willjanuary.

Apparently I'm surrounded by a bunch of "F" fanatics.....Big Smile [:D]

Hopefully I'll have some "E" supporters by January.

Heck, at the is rate if Revell have released their 1/48 F kit in time I might even go over to the dark side and build an F instead of an E.....Whistling [:-^]

Ok then badge 3 it is, you can find it here:

Well, as author, i am somewhat biased, but i must agree that of the original 16 options that i gave to John, it has to be either #1 or #3 for me, and i'm leaning towards 3.

bstrump, i created them with an ideal size of 105x70, hence the 525x350 original size ... didn't realise that it was supposed to be 65 height, but they should still scale quite well.

Bstrump, if you save the images and then use XP's view thumbnails option, you get an idea of what the badge would look like scaled down.

Actually, I played with it just after I posted using Microsoft Picture-It and it looks OK sized to the 65 pixel height.
