Sean beautiful job on the Magister , you're a braver man than I am tackling something like that in BMF.  Still the result is outstanding.

Not much in the way of progress for me I'm afraid, the fuselage is together and the wings are on but there is still a fair amount filling and sanding left to do on this kit before any painting can start.

Finally got my camera back today, so here are a couple of pics of the Magister in BMF

In hind sight I shoulda painted it but I really wanted to try the foil approach.

It worked for the most part, but the more curved areas show up some wrinkles that I couldn't smooth out

The nose cone is Chrome BMF that I polished with Gunze 1000 and then covered in Future so the aluminium wouldn't oxidise.

The rest is Matt Aluminium BMF that was coated with a Flat Base/Future mix to try and get the finish of doped aluminium.

Kinda close but not quite exact.

Good fun to build, simple kit with a few intense fit problems, but definately a worthy subject to have in the collection.

I'm happy with the finished product and enjoyed modelling with you guys again.

Hopefully by the next Aussie GB we'll have our mojo back.

Thanks Sean, the seatbelts were just gently bent into shape and then held down with a tiny drop of CA.  Although next time I will try and remember to take pictures before assembling the cockpit tub.

Well, FINALLY finished the Magister!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This will be the LAST time I ever try and foil smething that doesn't have a multitude of panel lines

Unfortunately I can't take pics at the moment, and I wont use excuses like 'flat batteries' or 'I lost my cable', I'm going original old school

My mummy has it!!

So until I can prise it from her fingers without getting a clout around the ears (she broke hers, found out the hard way that cameras DON'T bounce) pics will have to wait.

But it really is finished, honest.

Sorry these are not the greatest shots but I just couldn't get the lighting right.  The cockpit was detailed with the Eduard color PE set and I used a little Mig Pigments Gulf War Sand mixed with Humbrol thinner to try and give the pit that desert dusty feel.  Anyway here are a couple of pics of my Kittyhawk Mk.IA front office.

Well I was going to post some photos of my completed but yet to be installed cockpit for the P-40 but it seems photobucket is down for maintenance, so unfortunately it'll have to be tomorrow night.

Hmmmm I think a small nudge is needed to get us back on to the first page.

Nothing much in the way of progress to report at the moment, but I'm going to pull the P-40 out tonight so I can at last make some progress on this build.

Darren-Yeah it's gets bs cold here. On the way to work the other morning it was -2, ended up being 23 that day.

While it's not the coldest place in Oz, we do have the biggest temperature shifts, being in the middle of the desert and all kinda makes sense.

On a lighter note, FINALLY got the decals on the Magister tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now it's a flat coat of Future, then a couple of braces to attach the nose cone and photo time!!!!!

Might add the BMF didn't turn out as nice as I had pictured in the good ol' minds eye, but to late now.

If you can't find the specific aircraft that you are looking for you're probably going to have to either go something generic or take a wild guess.

I'm in the same bucket as all of you I'm afraid with work being totally nuts lately meaning my modeling time has been next to zero.  I haven't picked up the P-40 for a few weeks now but it currently sitting with the cockpit assembled ready to be inserted into the fuselage so that I can add the wings.

Modelling time has been absolute zero this month, and so has the weather!

Work has been flat out for 15 hours most days with water pipes bursting all over town. Great for the wallet, bad for life

Going to try and mask the windshields AGAIN.

These are so fiddily I'm going greyer by the second, and there ain't a whole lot of colour left on my head.

Hopefully will finish this month.

Winter in Wodonga has slowed progress right down on all of my models as they are all up to tyhe stage of airbrushing. Unfortunately it's too cold to open up the windows to do any airbrushing, never mind the drying time has increased greatly. Bugger!

The Aussiemodeller site has been updated with photos from the Melbourne Expo 2006 and some walkarounds of a RAAF F-111 and a Beaufort.

Not alot of progress on my side.

Life and motivation are really getting in the way of things, appears the same for most people this year.

Have managed to finish the fuselage and the wheel struts.

Now onto glueing all together, adding the final details, and she's done.
