gah... I have a 1/35 T34/85 with full interior and pe stuff in progress for the SuperDetail GB....  although technically I CAN get the interior for a tamiya King Tiger since I already have the verlinden engine for it, or that full interior set for the Stug III.  hmmmm...  Does the regular academy M-10 count, not the duckbill one that has the engine as well?

Yes, it does, because if I remember, It just doesn't have an engine. and that is less than half of the tank, so your god with the rules

Hey montana Cowboy, Terry here,

I can't speak for the good brother treadwell, but I seriously doubt that jan. 2007 would be fesible for me. I will try and do a bit more, I havn't spilt paint on this yet, count me in anyhow.

THis should be enjoyable.

Regards,

Terry.

get a photo hosting webste (i use photobucket.com )

Upload your digital photos into the space where it says "Image" by using the browse button to find the pics in your system.

click on the picture's thumbnail in your album.

copy them from the pic's main page (the largest size) into your post editor. there you go!

You may want to resize the pic in the edit tab above each thumbnail.

If this GB really ends in 2009, then add me with a 1/35 Sturmtiger, won't be able to get started for a while, but if it ends in 2007 I should be fine...

hi anthony--congrats again on your win this weekend--the LAV was great, personally i really liked the diorama--controversial 'grass' or large weeds or what ever, i liked it!!-- don' know why montana cowboy set the finish date for '09, that's a long way away!- i think my pal terry wanted it bumped up a bit--  cool with me-- i think the way i am going i project completion in the about april '07-- this is only my second build and i go slow with alot of research, but  i love to see the way long time modelers and young rising stars as your self go about things- a sturmtiger done by you will be a great addition to this GB!-- welcome aboard!-- treadwellCool [8D]

I have a 1:35 Jagdpanther (Tamiya - stop laughing, it was a gift) that is bare, although the exterior is more or less done. Being of the old motorised type, the upper hull can be dismantled quite easily, so it's an ok sort of opportunity to do a bit of detailing without having to peer into hatches or make "cutaways".

If that works out well, I could give a similar treatment to a Tamiya 1:35 Koenig Tiger, Jagdtiger and Panther, Sherman M4A3 and T34/85.

My Dragon kits (again, I don't think that these have interiors) include a couple of Panthers, the newish PzKw IVD 3 in 1, Hetzer, Maus, Koenig Tiger, and a Nashorn, which has a nicely exposed area, but I wouldn't want to detail the driver and radio operator's compartment.

I have a few Bandai kits in 1:48, one of which I've started (StuG IIIC) which has a rudimentary level of detail, and of course several Fujimi (ex-Nitto) tanks like the Ho-Ni and M4A1, but these are in 1:76.

So, if I'm permitted to begin with the Jagdpanther, then I will, otherwise I'd like to start with the M4A3.

Ok, thanks for letting me join! I just recived the Sturmtiger in the main today, and will get it going this week, plus I have some PE and AM for it...

treadwell: Thanks for your comments on the LAV, it was a really enjoyable build - not 100+ track links and 40+ road wheels lol. It's everyones comments that keeps me going Big Smile [:D]

@w3$0m3!!!!one-eleven!!1

Very nice.

I actually expect to be done in a few months (i've beeen hiding this from the forums. Turret is 80% done, just painting is really left. No pics yet, not until next weekend. I got a few PMs saying they would join, but can't finish one that fast, so I bumped it to 209. I'll add you 2 to the list.

Thank you for your magnanimity in allowing me to join in.

As the Tamiya Jagdpanther isn't exactly state of the art, I'll be scratchbuilding the interior, rather than using AM, with reference to the following site:

http://www.panzerworld.net/jagdpantheriwm.html

We'll just have to see how well I can do it within the limitations of my skills and the appearance of plain plastic card and putty etc.

I have blanked off the rhs sponson, and covered the floor with plastic card. I decided not to have it with a removable superstructure, because the gaps that would leave at the rear of the hull would be too big. The superstructure needs to be fixed to the hull to allow the join to be properly filled. I suppose I could superglue some plastic card to the rear plate, but with the rear hatch open, and the superstructure hatches open, the interior will be sufficiently visible (and hopefully not too tacky).

Edit: (pics added)

I used a grinding wheel in a motor tool to remove the excess hull wall that remained above the pannier /sponson. When I did this task on the left hand side, I used a slitter, which was much quicker.

This shows how bare the interior is, even after I'd added a length of milliputty "breech". Note the squared-off edges of the gun mounting casting representation.

The following picture shows how much could be seen from the outside through the open hatches, without even getting very close!

The next step was to make the gun mounting casting a little more life-like. So, I used the grinding wheel that was still in the motor tool to round off the edges ...

(you can compare the appearance of the "before" and the "after" with these two photos)

... then I spread some Squadron Green Putty over all the surfaces, and rubbed it with my fingertip until it dried, leaving a sandy, cast texture...

I still have a little bit to add to this, above the gun barrel. You will note that I've removed the inaccurate MG34 mounting, together with the m.g. I also rounded off the square edges of the kit barrel with a router bit in the motor tool.

Next, I thought about how I was going to represent the transmission and brakes. I decided to use a styrofoam food tray, cut into discs with a circle cutter, to save my precious plastic card for more important things.

As this food tray had an intrinsic subtle texture, I also cut out a rectangle of it and used it for the floor on the driver's side.

The drive shaft is a piece of sprue from the 1:72 Hasegawa Ostwind kit, sanded to a regular circular section by securing it in the chuck of the motor tool and spinning it at 2000rpm against a piece of sandpaper on a sanding block. Despite the optical illusion of the picture above, it is straight!

hey guysBig Smile [:D]--hey brews-- you have certainly picked a tough task to build the interior completely from scratch!!-- hope you have lots of pics for refrence--i have only made small progress this week--i drilled the hatch hinges to accept .020 rod so they work, built the torsion bars (for holding the turret hatches open) and did the work on the rear outer hull plate-- alot of holes to line up, measure and drill!!(71)--treadwell--  p.s. first pic is the turret roof from the inside

I'm just a little curious as to why you won't use it, what you'll do instead, and what the interior parts look like. Can you post a photo?
