Here are 3 quickie shots shortly after sprayed a dust coat and some smoke.  The smoke looks a little glossy right now, but that will go flat when I spray the final flat coat tomorrow.  Smile [:)]

Note to self... must remember to install gunsight before glueing canopy.... must remember to install gunsight before glueing canopy... must remember...  Zzz [zzz]

LOL aye laddy.  I've got my q-tips and turpenoid, going to clean up the excess now so hopefully the panel lines will remain.  Smile [:)]

Battery is charged and here is a pic.  Tomorrow morning I wipe up the excess using a Q-tip with a tiny tad of turpenoid.  I'll post another pic when the clean up is done.  Smile [:)]

The oil wash is finished, now I'm just waiting about 12 hours before I clean it up off the flat parts.  First time of done this technique with a plane, just trying to get it in the panel lines and rivets, hatches etc.  Turned out pretty good.

I took some pictures, but my camera battery died as I was walking over to plug it into my PC.  I'll upload some pics when the batter is charged.  Smile [:)]

Canopy is finished.  I didn't have time to do the oil wash, but I'm going to do that after work tomorrow.

And here they are sprayed.  I sprayed several light coats and used isopropyl alcohol this time to thin the paint instead of Tamiya Thinner as I wanted the paint to dry quickly, all in the interest of preventing seapage under the tape (learned that lesson the hard way a few builds back Shock [:O])

I still need to mask a wavy edge on the back end of the rear glass to coincide with the camo pattern on the fuselage, and spray some brown there but that will just take a few minutes in the morning.  Big Smile [:D]  Almost done guys, and again, thanks for you patience.  Bow [bow]

Finally got a chance to sit at my workbench for a bit and get some serious work done.  I just finished masking the canopy, I'm going to spray it in just a minute.  I might even have enough time to do the oil wash as well.  Big Smile [:D]

I'm still chugging away at the fuselage seams and rescribes. This is taking longer than I anticipated, due to a dumb error on my part.

Jeez, Scott, you're not finished yet?  Just kidding Big Smile [:D]Black Eye [B)]

Don't sweat the propeller decal.  Frankly, I've been staring at the picture and I still don't see anything wrong with it.  It's doubtful anyone would have noticed the perceived goof if you hadn't said anything.  The build looks goodThumbs Up [tup]

Now finish!Mischief [:-,]

Here are a couple of shots after the gear doors were installed, and after the propeller decals were put on.

The gear doors weren't too bad, although the doors and mechanism that opens and closes those doors was a bit fiddly, I managed to get it all together without too much trouble.  It does take a little patience and a steady hand.  Angel [angel]

The decals on the propellor went on well, however I had a small problem with one of the stencils near the root of one of the blades.  I had forgotten to spray the propeller with Future and for some reason the last one I put on was a little crooked, but it totally bonded itself where it was.... I couldn't slide that puppy to save my life! Banged Head [banghead] Even wetting it down didn't make one bit of difference.  Oh well.... it's not too bad, and most people probably won't notice, but I know.  Blush [:I]

Man, the past 3 days have been insanely hectic!  I managed to get a few minutes to upload a couple of pics (sorry I didn't have time to set up lighting etc.).  These were taken just before I attached the landing gear doors.

All that's left is to finish up the canopy, a little oil wash, flat coat and all the lights.  Big Smile [:D]

Hmmm... any ideas on how I should handle the shell casing ejector ports.  Paint?  Wash?

And now off to Bully's for a Bully Burger and a brew!  Dinner [dinner] Make a Toast [#toast]

Well, I got tired of looking at the partially completed P-40C....sooo I painted the little parts and did some work.  Still can't find the one landing gear door (the big one, of course) so I'll have to improvise at some point.  I haven't attached the canopy yet-I might do some pastel weathering so I'd need to hit it with a flat coat afterwards.  Also, I took a few moments and drilled out the exhaust-only 'overbored' two of them!

Still some touch-up work to do, but I should have it finished soon....I hope....

ya, me too!

Sigh [sigh] The last two nights were consumed with helping the kids with homework and school projects.  Man, there is never enough time in the day.

And tomorrow I have to get up at 3:15am to get our youngest son to his high school as they have a band competition in the Bay area this weekend, then they're going to Marine World on the way back Sunday.  Zzz [zzz]

Anyway, I'll have some photos for ya later tonight or in the morning.  Smile [:)]
